Ok - so this is not the first time I've had a bub, but I never lost a mucus plug before so i'm a bit lost!!
My hubby and I have been a bit randy the past few nights and today I've had a thick globby milky-looking discharge. it's not bloody or anything... just looks like ovulation mucous - but...well...more!
Does this sound like my mucus plug or some of it? I'm 33 weeks-ish!

I called my doctor today cause i was thinking i lost mine they said it sounds like i did and no it does NOT have to be pink or any blood or brownish color to it! my doctor told me to be careful and if i have contractions that are close together that last over an hour to go in . im 30 weeks 4 days.

I'm pretty sure that ur mucous plug will be tinged pink with blood. Everytime my hunny and I get busy my discharge will be a lot more in quantity for a couple of days and then will kinda go back to normal (as normal as it can be neways). So I would vote no for the mucous plug. I'm 32 wks btw.

Well I phoned the midwife! Seems like yep that's what happened it is the MP!
I asked about the sex thing - we've been happilly doing it twice a day for about the last week and she said no need to stop - something about the hormones in male sperm helping to soften things up up there so things dilate easier-ish! Yay! I'm going with that one - this is the best I've felt in 33 weeks! LOL
Although the BH contractions afterwards are annoying!!
thanks guys!!!

if you think theres a possibility that it could be your mucous plug call your doctor! if it is your mucous plug and you keep having sex you are at a higher risk of getting an infection that might affect the baby! thats what the mucous plug does... it blocks the way so you don't get an infection! at least thats what the books i've read have said! my doctor told me if i though mine had come out to call her immediately to come and get checked out to make sure everything was okay. that way she can let me know if sex if out of the question! you don't wanna put your baby's health at risk just because your feeling frisky!

With my first born, I lost my Mucus Plug at 7 months. It was how you described it, white thick glob. No blood in it. I believe that everyone is different. You should call your doc and let him know. I could not have any kind of intimate relations with my husband because the doc said it would put me in labor. Once it was ok, we did and sure enough, contractions started and my son came. So, again, talk with your doc. We are not doc's, we can only give you advice from our own personal experience, and again, we are ALL DIFFERENT!!! Good Luck and Congrats...

Good for you Momma!! Enjoy it while you can cause we both know that soon as that little one arrives you won't be enjoying it for awhile. I'm trying to enjoy it too but this little girl has dropped so low I can feel her moving while we're in the act.....like in there....not a lot of fun. LOL
