Either way further along, or multiples?!

I'm PRETTY positive I'm 12 weeks and 3 days. We got an ovulation kit, then literally tried that night that we got the 2 lines. Low and behold a couple weeks later we got a faint positive. They became darker after a few days. I finally see my doctor for the first time today, and she measures my uterus, and goes "oh my, you're way further along than 12 weeks. When I asked her how much further, she said I'm about 17-18 weeks! Now.. I'm thinking theres no way.. She says could be multiples, then I asked since my youngest son was 6 months old when I got pregnant if its possible my uterus just hadn't gotten back down to normal size, she says thats possible.. I dunno what to think. We have an ultrasound tomorrow to see what's going on, but it's just raising so many questions with me. Could multiples make me measure THAT much further? Could my uterus not have shrunk much at all? Although I barely got a faint positive, and had a period Jan 1st, could I still be as far along as she thinks?

everybodys differrent, and the science they use to determin how far along you are is very skctchy - even ultrasound can be off by 2 weeks!! so I would go with what you believe to be true and dont worry too much about what the doctors tell you

Yes multiples could measure you that much farther along. But maybe you had a period after you got pregnant. Maybe you have some extra fluid, which can fix itself later in the pregnancy. Maybe your uterus isn't back to normal size. Maybe you have a second placenta that doesn't have anything in it. Don't worry too hard about it. If you had a period after you got pregnant then maybe your hormones were a little delayed in reacting to the test. My best friend is a large woman and thought she was pregnant, she took a test and it was negative, even though she had all the signs of being pregnant. She didn't get a positive home test until she was 6 months along because her hormones just didn't show for the test. Good luck and please post what happens with the ultrasound!!! Chin up!
