I am expecting my 2nd child and have a 18 month old. I've heard the 2nd time is always alot harder, but I didn't think the morning sickness (or as I like to call it ALL DAY SICKNESS) could be any worse than it was with my first. I was sick for about 5 months with my first, I was nauseas all day and threw up sometimes, but I was generally always in a happy mood. With this one however, I am throwing up multiple times a day, am even more tired than the first time, can' get rid of the nausea at all, can barely keep anything down, and not to mention I feel so bad for my husband, because I a crabby pretty much everyday. Does nayone have any helpful tips?? I am trying to work through this, but it's just been hard,. What can I do to rid the crabbiness and neausea?

I'm a stay at home mom so my daughter is basically my work( I love it but it's still work) so when I feel the need for a break I try and get my husband to take of her one so I can be by myself for once and two so she can spend time with her dad. I eventually gained the weight back though not through anything specific just the baby started growing. He is now 5 lbs and I still have 7 weeks until my due date so thankfully weight loss didn't effect him.

When your pregnant you shouldn't have much ginger. It's one of the foods that you should try to avoid during pregnancy. I did the research because someone mentioned it to me and I LOVE it. My dr said if I find anywhere saying not to have something during pregnancy to not have it. Ask your dr before much ginger. I've read some places that say it's OK and other's say not to have any at all, so be careful!

Yeah, I'm SO glad that I didn't get it as bad as my mom! Mine ended about half way through the pregnancy, but got much better at week 13 usiually.

Well, I guess it sounds like you all have had it pretty bad with your 2nd pregnancy also. So Denise, how bad does the Ginger taste when you add it to water? I've wanted to try ginger for a while now, but I just don't cae for the taste, and think that it might make things worse. But at this point, I'm willing to try anything. LOL. I hope you can get some rest, I know how hard the last month or two can be. Good luck.

I have heard of Relgan Vivian, but I think I may have to ask my doctor about it, because the prescription I have isn't doing the trick. LOL "the dark side".....that's funny that you say that, cause I sometimes feel that way to. I will have to try that too.....usually I just get away from my husband, but never my daughter. She usually isn't the one making me crabby. ;) I too have lost about 5-10 lbs already. Have you gained it back yet, or are you still sick alot?

Wow Amy, being sick all nine months, I couldn't imagine that. I thought I had it bad with 6 months. Yikes! The driving just send me over the edge too. I've had to pull over a few times already to throw up. :( I've had the preggy pops with my last pregnancy, but they didn't help, I supposed I could try them again though.

Thank so much ladies for your help. Hope you are all doing well in your pregnancies!!

Each pregnancy is totally different. Mine is almost exactly the same, except I'm more constipated but slightly less tired. Morning sickness is exactly the same for me this time around.

If your throwing up a lot you need to talk to your dr. If it's that bad you need to take something for it. My mom had HORRIBLE morning sickness for 9 months with my older sister and 8 months with me, it was bad with the pill the dr gave her, but better than with out the pill.

For me, I find that if I drive in the morning it makes my morning sickness worse (but there's nothing I can do about that, I need to get to work each day!).

Motherhood maternity sells these morning sickness candy that from what I heard really works! Also, some swear by atomic fireballs. Try to find a comfort food that helps ease the morning sickness. For me I have a frozen Vanilla whipped Yogurt, DH think's I'm crazy for freezing it, but it's SO good, and helps sooth my sick feeling.

This is my second as well and it was 100% worse than the first I lost 10 pounds in less than a month. the doctor gave me several different kinds of prescriptions Reglan was the most effective for me, As for being crabby every time I felt myself going over tot he dark side, I would try to take a bath or drink tea and tell my husband I need 10 minutes without him or my daughter. i usually felt better before the 10 minutes were up.

Yeah this time around for me was a lot harder than with my first. With my first I threwup in the morning a time or two then I was fine. At the beginning of this pregnancy I had 24-7 nausea with indigestion all the time....Really tired all the time too. Nothing really helped, I did eat ground raw ginger at times or just added it in my water...which helped only sometimes. Toast or crackers were my best friend! I just stuck it out and by 2nd trimester I was feeling GREAT! Now I'm just about in my 8th month starting with the pregnancy insomnia and pelvic and back pain because his head is grinding on them all night long! lol. Good luck! Your baby will come before you know it!!!

I do have a prescription for the nausea, but it doesn't seem to help much. I still throw up almost everyday. :( I've tried toast, but it doesn't do the trick for me. What does the maloxon do exactly? Also, I've never heard of the pregnancy tablets.....where do you get those from? And they worked well for you??

i heard ur 2nd is easier. As for keeping food don ask ur doc about maxolon, its a tablet to help u eat better in pregnancy. I used it cuz i couldnt keep anything down either. I found eating dry toast or toast with butter on it helps as well. Or try taking pregnancy tablets i took them when i felt unhappy, crabby, feeling tired. It helped me get thru each day.

So try that and i hope it works for u
