Fears of induction.

[deleted account] ( 3 moms have responded )

Due in just over 1 week and the Dr's are wanting to Induce me.

What i was wondering was are there any mothers here who have had a natural birth 1st and a Induction 2nd and how did it go? Which would you prefer?

i had 5 natural births and my 6th child was an induction cos she was iugr (in uterus growth restriction) The induction was awesome, i was in hossy on the friday to have her the monday, i would prefer induction if we had a choice...

i personally didn't have to be induced.. but my sister was induced when she was 2 weeks past her due date.. and she nearly had to have a c-section because they thought that her labor stalled.. but then she progressed fast at the end and was able to do it naturally.. she ended up being in labor for 18 hours.. i think inductions tend to make your labor longer depending on how dilated you are and all that.. if you aren't dilated or effaced at all i would recommend waiting to be induced (unless it's medically necessary to get the baby out) because being induced can very often lead to c-sections.. but if your dr thinks you'll do ok.. then maybe you should..

I was backward from what your asking. I was induced with my first and had my second naturally. I liked going into labor naturally just to have the 'It's Time' experience, but as far as the actual labor goes, I think they were identical. Both took the same amount of time, equal amounts of pain, and same pushing. I'm almost 38 weeks and would love just to have my doc schedule an induction lol!
