How many of you believe that you go into labor 48 hours before or after your tenth full moon cycle?

I went to my Dr.'s appt yesterday and found out I was dialated to a 3 and I was 80% effaced. My doctor also said she expected me to have her soon so my mom started talking about this full moon thing. I've tried to look up some more stuff on it but haven't really found anything. Have you heard about the labor on full moon and how many of you believe it?

I believe it. There are so many things controlled by the moon's lunar pull. The ocean's tide, animal behaviour (including humans), and other things are effected by the moon as well. I very much so believe that the moon has something to do with labor. Don't know how much, but its got something to do w/ it.

Can a full moon cause women to go into labor?

Yes, this is true. Last year I saw on "The Discovery Channel" a special episode that talked about women going into labor during full moon. Because I had just turned 9 months and was tired of being pregnant in the long Texas (hot) summer. I decided to test out the theory. I contacted the local tv station and asked when was the next full moon. The weather man advised me it would be tonight Sept. 09, I went outside and stood full view of the moon for nearly an hour. I even got out thel lawn chairs and laid out. Sure enough the next morning, I was at the hospital having my baby. The RN Nurse says they have more pregnant women come in during a full moon. I told her about what I saw on the "Discovery Channel" she couldn't say for sure but I'm sticking with the Moon. Every once in a while I'll walk outside and tell the moon thanks. Full Moon Rocks!

My take on this is that if you already have been cycling with the moon, there is no reason why your birth would not also be timed with it. I will test this out soon as it is almost full moon, I typically ovulate with the full moon or within a couple days after, and I am due this weekend, a day after the full moon.

I'm 38 weeks and 4 days.. There was a full moon night before last and someone got my hopes up saying babies are born on full moons blah blah. Well my lil man is still in here doing his thing. Honestly I've been so ready for him to come out into this world and it kind of depressed me a bit whe he didn't come. :(

I went into labor with my daughter about two days before a full moon. I read that studies have shown that more babies are born during the fourth quarter of the new moon, which is the full moon pase.

my little boy is due aug 24, the night of a full moon. We're naming him damien, so the full moon due date made us both laugh a bit. now i'm curious as to how close my other 3 were to full moons....

(checked and with my 13 yr old the full moon was the next day, 11 yr old the full moon was 3 days later, 20 month old the full moon was 5 days later. and i do notice a trend of 2 days seperating each. 1 day, 3 days, 5 days....will this baby be 7 days away from a full moon? i think i'd laugh)

I worked at our local hospital for years, and I can swear to the fact that more women came in and were in labor
during a full moon than any other night.
I've not heard of sitting in the full moon or the tenth moon cycle. . .but I'll start reading up on it. Come 36 weeks I'm gonna be ready to meet this little man!

yes its definatly quite common, especially for woman that live in the country and have more exposure to nature & moon light - your menstral cycle tends to syncronyse with the moon cycle - especially if you regularly go out in full moon light, its some sort of trigger (this happened to me and a lot of my friends) - bleeding on the new moon/ ovulating on the full moon. when that happens it means that you'll be due on a full moon too. it also happens with animals - a lot more babies are born around the full moon. But it doesnt happen for everyone

Yep full moon tonight! I really really hope I go into labor. I was having false labor this morning. I thought it might be the beginning of active labor....but it went away! I think my son is gonna be a pain in the ass just like my daughter was! I'm so past ready! Good luck ladies. Hopefully we all will get lucky and have our babies tonight!

I was at the hospital yesterday and it was packed! (Maternity) The nurses were overwhelmed with moms in labour ... I was due a week ago ... The full moon is 2night .. I hope it gets things going... I think that it can have an impact .. but not for everyone all the time..
Good Luck! When are you due?

I looked at the calendar and I am due 5 days after the Full Moon this Sept.

When I had my daughter 10 years ago I had her 14 days after the Full Moon in Aug and 15 Days later there was a Full Moon in Sept.
