Getting checked every week

Im 35 weeks pregnant and just recently my doctor started checking me. Just yesterday I went because for the past couple of days I had been feeling pressure and pain so they told me to come in just in case. My doctor checked me and she said that although my cervix was still closed that my baby girl was already in the head down position and that she could feel her head. My thing is that when I got checked it was extremely uncomfortable for me and I really just don't like it although I know it's necessary so I know I have to cope. I just wanted to know if anyone else has or had been checked and found it uncomfortable and if so how do you cope?

I was lucky enough to never have one... untill I was 9 cm dialated.... my water broke at 34 weeks, and to reduce the chance of infection I was actually informed by the OB to not allow anyone to touch me there :P they induced me at 35 and a half weeks. so I was really lucky.... and that website has some really interesting info on many toppics, too bad I only found out about it after I gave birth to my first

actually from the info I have read it is not necessary, it has caused dialation in some women, also it can cause infection, (even when using steril gloves, it can push germs up higher). also from information that I have read it is actually not really telling the Dr anything. http://www.drmomma.org/2010/04/myth-of-v...
