I am 7 months pregnant and my unborn baby girl started getting hiccups in the womb about a month ago. Recently Ive been charting how often and for a few days now its been 3 or 4 times a day. The time very from 1 min. to longer. Anyone else experience this? My OB said that its normal and not harming the baby which is good. Curious to know if your baby gets hiccups in the womb, when did it start, how many in a day?

I was 7 months when my son started getting hiccups in the womb. He had them all the time. Then after he was born he continued to get them. So sweet really!! Enjoy them!

Hello Shannon I'm 8 months preggy now and I'm also experiencing it...I've read a lot of articles about it and it says that it is normal. Of course, the first time I experience it I'm freaking out but then after I have known that babies in the womb do hiccups too...I'm so relieved...my baby do hiccups 4 or more times daily...:)

Yes!! Very normal and very common. Both my kids had the hiccups several times a day. I always thought it was so cute to imagine them in there having hiccups :)

Omg Im 9 months and my baby boy has been hiccuping in the womb for about 4 months now..His is like twice a day and about 1 minute everytime. I just want to laugh sometimes and one time we were both hiccuping at the same time lol

im (27weeks ) and my baby hicupps all day everyday ... mostly at night =] i think its the coolest thing yet annoying when im trying to sleep. =]

I'm 30 weeks pregnant and my baby gets hiccups in the womb all the time. I'm a nurse and my doc I work with is due on the same day as me and she said that hiccups in the womb are a sign of lung development - it is the spasm of the diaphragm from the baby "practicing breathing" as you may know they start doing at around 28-30 weeks. Nothing to worry about.

My first born had hiccups in the womb just like that! She hiccuped every morning during breakfast, during my nap (I could nap then since she was my first) every night while watching TV and even in the middle of the night while I was trying to sleep! Now I am pregnant with my second and I figured he wouldn't hiccup as often since she seemed to do it like crazy but he is following suit! It is actually really comforting to me because I read that hiccups help mature their lungs faster. I'm not going to lie though, at the end with my daughter it started to drive me nuts!

Currently I'm not far enough long to tell if my baby gets hiccups yet, but when I was pregnant with my son, he had the hiccups almost all day long! It was very frustrating for me, but like your OB said it's normal, no need to worry. My son got the hiccups in the womb so bad sometimes it felt like he was kicking me in the butt from the inside, not to mention it felt like his foot or hand was going to pop out too soon! haha.

My baby did from about 20 weeks and she had them anywhere from 1 to 4 times a day. She's 2 months old and still gets them pretty regularly.

My baby gets the hiccups about 5 or 6 times a day, and sometimes they last for up to 20 minutes. At first it was cute, but now that I'm so far along and he's so big, it's irritating when I'm trying to concentrate on something at work! I feel bad that I get annoyed, but I think that just comes with being SO pregnant! My doc says he gets them because he's practicing breathing and because he's growing so fast- it's part of the growth spurt process.

I'm 38+ weeks and my favorite feeling during this entire pregnancy has been when my little girl gets hiccups in the womb... they are the coolest feeling and because of their consistency I feel closer to her. She gets them almost every night at the same time ...

I don't remember when my baby started getting hiccups, mostly cause to begin with I didn't realize that's what it was! He got them probably about four times before I did one of those "ohhhhhh, THAT'S what that is!" things. He didn't get them much during my 7th and 8th month but before that, and so far in my 9th month he's gotten them a lot. They usually last for about 5-7 minutes.

I'm 37weeks and I've experienced it several times a day(3 or 4times in a day) through out the week....it started in my 7month and has yet to stop...its cute at times and wakes me up in the middle of the night....I'm always thinking as adults water would help but it doesn't change anything..lol =)

when i was pregnant with my daughter she was doing it twice or more a day once i got to the third trimester and she did this right up to her birth.
im only a couple of months gone with this one but i expect to get the same again once i get to the third trimester.
i read somewhere that no one knows exactly why babys hiccup inside you but it might be that its a way of making there diaphram stronger in preperation for breathing and drinking.

This is my 2nd pregnancy and I'm on my 7th month now. I felt my baby's first hiccups in the womb 2 months ago. =) Now, I feel it maybe 2-3 times everyday for about 10-30 mins. =)

hi my baby has been doing it for a while almost every time i eat she gets it and due to being diabetic thats 5 times a day i am almost 37 weeks its funny isnt it enjoy being pregnant it goes quick doesnt it

Mine would get terrible hiccups in the womb. It would go on for ages, like an hour or more at a time and sometimes several times a day. It was really annoying. I can't remember when it started but maybe around 6 months. It was usually when I was trying to get to sleep at night. He turned out just fine, very healthy :) Now he's 11 months old and still gets them quite often.

When I was in the last couple months of my last trimester with my first daughter, she had hiccups all the time in the womb & they lasted for a long time when she got them. It was at least 5 days a week, several times a day and I know 15 minutes or longer sometimes. My doctor said it was normal & she is fine. However, she did have hiccups a lot as a young baby too.

my son got hiccups the first time when i was in labor with him i was getting induced and it was so funny but after he was born he had the hiccups everyday all the time it was nuts the nurses said he would still sleep with them but he wouldnt lol theydidnt bother him but yeah no their hiccups are just like ours lol anoying is about it lol my son still gets them every so offten lol

Ive got twins and i swear my stomach i constantly spazing from the hiccups lol. They get them all the time because they are trying to practice breathing. I love the feeling, it kinda tickles lol

My last baby had hiccups in the womb all the time. We saw it a lot in the ultrasounds. I think it was the entire last 3 to 4 months that she had hiccups in the womb. I thought it was cute.

I am further along than you are (35 weeks) but my baby gets hiccups in the womb all the time. Two to Three times a day. My 5 year old daughter thinks it is the coolest thing ever!
