SEX!! Mans sperm is a natural drug like pitocin but its called oxytocin.. That will def jump you into labor in your late pregnancy..

I took three tablespoons of Caster Oil (neat-right off the spoon) and it did kick in labor (turns out my next door neighbor who is a critical care nurse had done the same thing and it worked for her-thanks again Lori). I don't know that my body was ready yet, because the labor was pretty weak and had to be helped along with drugs. Thankfully my doc broke my water, so I was in! A few hours later it was all over, and I have to admit I'd do it again. Good luck to you!

oh and inserting 5 capsules of borage oil vaginally at bedtime so they dissolve while you sleep will help soften your cervix which can be purchased in the pharmacy section at walmart and is all natural

The semen softens the cervix. Along with orgasm causing contraction. I also tried castor oil. Blah yuck. Worst expeiriance ever. I agree with the other ladies except I would try to jog instead of walk. Also a four wheeling trip might help :)

its the penitration, loosing the pelvis and causing relaxation that helps, not the semen

I am in the same boat as you! I have tried almost everything, I am 38 weeks and I am so ready to have my little one, but I have heard that spicy food helps, Chinese food, and of course walking. I have heard walking so many times, just make sure that you don't over do it just in case you do go into labor you don't want to be exhausted already. Good luck!

I induced my labor By adding a few drops of goldenseal root my soda. Goldenseal root contains berberine which our bodies convert to oxytocin, which is the hormone that triggers labor. I put a few drops in my drink at six pm and by nine pm I felt contractions. I fell asleep but was in full blown labor the next day. A few drops is all you need. I was 39 weeks.

elevation. drive up a mountain walk around a little bit and prepare for your baby to drop. The true method of naturally inducing this late in pregnancy. pregnant women are not allowed to fly in last trimester because they will go into labor.

Sex does not induce labour however it does "ripen" your cervix. Basically preparing and softening which you definatly want. Try sex everynight and see what can happen!

You don't. If you are still pregnant and want to force the baby out then go to the doctor and be induced. Otherwise, kick back and enjoy it for as long as you can because that angel will never be as close to you as they are now. :)
congrats on the wonderful baby/babies and god bless

apparently hot foods bring it on. but i've heard it's all bullshit and they just come when they're ready. i tried everything though because i was so impatient. not the castor oil and weird stuff just the food stuff and raspberry leaf tablets and walking lots and cleaning.

yeah,i agree. i also would NOT do castor oil. nothing like crapping your guts out that may or may not start labor. Not worth it!

your going to hear people tell you all kinds of things to do to help naturally induce labor and i did almost all of them. pineapple, spicy food, walk lots and lots jump up and down, jump on a yoga ball, have sex, go on a bumpy car ride and drink castor oil(which i did not do and would not recommend it because i've heard from the nurses more times than not they have had pregnant women come in who thought they were in labor but were just having bowel movement contractions.) so you can try all of those things i did to induce labor and i'm not sure what worked and what didn't only your baby will decide when they are ready to come out. sorry if this didn't help this is just my experience congrats on the baby and i hope everything goes smoothly.

Ask a midwife about 5W. It's an herbal combo by nature's sunshine to get contractions started. I personally did that the last week and drank red raspberry leaf tea like it was the only liquid out there. :) I went into labor at the end of the week and had 6 hours total labor. It rocked. I know a friend who had her membranes stripped and it did NOTHING. fyi. Also, try a little mind over matter. Okay, little one. It's time to come out now. We're ready for you! :)

My water broke before he was ready so I had to be immediately induced at the hospital due to the loss of amniotic fluid. However, I've heard the same as Amanda. Doctors suggest having a lot of sex to induce labor. I've also heard of women going for car rides..up and down hillls and over railroad tracks. Like I said though, I have no idea first hand if these techniques work. Hopefully, you'll have a quick and easy labor. Good luck to you.
