pERsonally, I go by the weeks & you are right!!! I've tried explaining this to ppl and some get it, others don't.. we ARE pregnant for 10 months not 9.. It takes like two weeks to even get to egg... In some pregnancy books, the drs even refer to us as being 2wks ahead of baby... (For example, I am 26wks this week, but it says the FETUS is only 24wks).. I hope this was helpful

Hey y'all my first pregnancy and I need help please....... My book say am 30+5 what does that mean weeks??? And if it's in months would I be in the 8 month????...... Really confused cause I'm in February and my due date is April 23😏??

You're pregnant for 40wks which equals 10 months. I think it's just 9 and easier to understand because most women don't know they are pregnant until they are like 5-6wks which means that you have already been pregnant for 1 month. I was confused about that too. I just go by the wks.

I generally answer with how many weeks I am along. If I use months - I personally count the months since conception. Aka I'm 23 weeks or 5 months.
You can also count ever 4 weeks as a month and explain that to people. It's really up to you :)

you really are pregnant for nine months. no month is perfectly 28 days. the way to calculate your due date is to add 7 days and subtract three months from the last day of your last period. i count the weeks, but if somebody asks me how many months i am, i just look in my "what to expect when you're expecting" book and it tells me what month i am in. i am 26 weeks, so im in my sixth month.♥

I usually just go by weeks, as of today I am 32 wks. But when anybody asks how many months that is I count back from the due date. Mine is April 20 so that puts me in my 8th month now. Some people count their months when they start a new month and some people count it at the end of the month. It is usually easier to keep track of if you have a reference point every month; your doctors appointment, the date your due, or any other day that is easy to remember. At 30 wks it will get easier cause then you start going to the doctor every 2 wks and then your in the final stretch so your counting down the weeks anyways!!
Good luck and enjoy it!

I am just using how many weeks I am pregnant cause it doesn't make sense to me either, but if I wanted to count months, I would count back from my due date, for me is the 22nd, so the 22nd of each month for me would be how I would actually count the months, kind of like your birthday or how you count how old your baby will be, it will be by the day of the month that they were born. So I am 19 weeks but I only count 4 months because I am due July 22nd. That is how I do it... Plus we have 52 weeks in 12 months so that is where it doesn't match up either, months just don't have exactly 28 days (4 Weeks) except February most months have 2 or 3 more days than that.

you also have to remember that they count it from your LAST period.. so if you have a 'regular' 28 day cycle.. you don't actually fall pregnant until you ovulate 14 days after your last period. So there is 2 weeks that you aren't pregnant. Who knows why they do that though!!

Believe me, it goes EXTREMELY fast!!! I don't know where the time has gone, but the last 7 weeks is dragging on!!! I guess it's because she is getting so big that I just want her to be out already!!! lol. Thank you, and if you need anything, just ask!

I am 34 weeeks pregnant, and if I count my weeks into months using 4 weeks being a month, then I am 8.5 months pregnant. However, according to a calendar, I am right at 8 months. Hopefully that helps. I usually just stick to weeks... It makes the countdown easier!!!

You are actually pregnant for 10 months. Too bad they don't teach us that in school huh lol. I think they say 9 months because 37 weeks is full term and that's about 9.5 months. Also when you think about it you are only ever 9 months pregnant because they don't let you go past 10 months so that's why you never hear anyone say "I'm 10 months pregnant" I just count the months as 4 weeks so for example I'm 30 weeks or 7.5 months pregnant, some women count certain months in the pregnancy as 5 or even 6 weeks but that's just not accurate in my opinion, hope this helps :)
