You can find out as early as 16 weeks although 18 is what is recommended since the sexual organs form on the outside and if it is a girl then around 16-20 weeks it will turn inside therefore if you get the results to early and are told it is a boy then it can still be a girl.

4.5 months is the earliest...id wait till 5.5 months to be most accurate though. i had mine at 4.5 the doc said it looked mostly like a girl at that point and even showed us but i think i would have felt more confident about the gender had the ultasound been done later on.

now if it had been like the pictures you see in baby development magazines i would presume finding out at 4 and 4.5 months would be accurate. but seeing as those ultrasounds are expensive most people do not get those.

Most people find out when they're twenty weeks, but i found out when I was only like fifteen!

My doctor told me the standard was 20 weeks, but you can (if you are lucky) tell by week 12 sometimes. Of course it is less accurate, but he said it was possible.

With my first I was 16 weeks and with my second they wanted to wait until I was 23 weeks and now my third they want me to go in when I'm 16 weeks so I'm gonna say sometime between 16 and 23 weeks.

I think at around 15 or 16 weeks is where you can definitely see what the sex is but most places don't do ultrasound until 18-22 weeks along. I'm 16 weeks today and i'm getting on done in less about 2 weeks! Can't wait :-)

18-20 weeks. At the earliest they could possibly find out is sixteen or seventeen weeks, but that all depends on if the baby cooperates.

you can find out at 20 weeks thats the best time because its the best time to see everything down there its more clear so you wont be told the wrong thing too soon

you can find out at 15 or 16 weeks with a 3D ultrasound but if your on medicaid your insurance wont cover it and its expensive! i found out when i was 19 weeks and my doctor told me they like to do it as close to your 20th weeks as possible!

I found out two weeks ago when I was 16 weeks (it's a girl). With my son (now 2 1/2), I found out at 19 weeks.

My doctor chose to wait until I was 21 weeks almost 22 to do the ultrasound there are other things (measurements, etc.) that they do during this ultrasound and I believe he said that you have to be at least 20 weeks for these along with the sex to be more acurate.

18-20 weeks is best, its less likely for them to be wrong, but not impossible for them to be wrong. So techlly birth is the best time to find out what you are for sure having LOL.
