I really just wanted to tell everyone that WIC is an amazing program! And if you have it, i hope you agree! If you are like me and my fiance and don't have a lot of money flow coming, in take advantage of WIC. Not only do they provide healthy food services, they also provide free classes and much more. I'm in Colorado and they have such nice facilities and the people that work there are amazing. Its an amazing program AND if you are on Medicaid (like me) you automatically qualify. I just wanted to let people know. And if you have it, i really hope you are has happy as me with all that comes with WIC. It really makes my pregnancy THAT much better!

@ Kelly. Did you include your partner in the program? My one friend doesn't qualify for it neither, she's military and it's just her and her son. The bigger the family you have the higher is the cut off line for your income.If we only had 1 child we wouldn't qualify neither. Heck, if i wasn't pregnant with our 3rd one right now we would probably not qualify.. or barely.

I have it too. My husband is in the military and i stay at home with my 2 and 4 year old so i finally got WIC last September. I didn't know we qualified, but it helps out so much! Especially with formula when you have a baby. I wish i would've known that when i had my son. Formula was killing us.
Anyways, i am pregnant with our 3rd (and last) baby and with me and the kids we save over 100$ every month. That's really great. And now that they have fruits/veggies and oatmeal i like it even better.
If my husband makes his next rank (he tests next week) and hopefully gets ti by the end of the year/beginning of next year then we will no longer need WIC. But right now i'm enjoying it. I'm glad they invented a program like that.

I've tried to apply for WIC but I'm not eligible to get it. I barely make enough money to cover my monthly bills & now with a baby coming it makes it that much harder. I work full time & big in a decent amount of money for someone my age in my field, but I make too much money on a yearly average to even qualify for the program, which I believe is ridiculous!

I didn't get on WIC till my first child was born, that was 10 yrs ago this coming Aug. Was on that for her till she turned 6. We make a bit more money than we did before and hope we are able to get on it with the new baby this fall.

I have it and love it! My husband makes too much to qualify for any other type of assistance, but not having to shell out a butt ton of money for milk and bread and fruit/veggies is such a relief! I'm in Indianapolis, btw. I always suggest that people apply when they find out they're pregnant. It definately helps when you have to buy a bunch of diapers and wipes and ALL the "other" baby stuff.

Wic is a great program designed to help not just those who have no income , but also those with income that is average . It is one of our easier to be qualified programs !
