With my daughter I was induced on my due date but I was 2 cm and about 60% for over 2 weeks then with my son I was 2 cm and only 20% 2 weeks before my due date so at my 37 week app. my doctor srtipped my mambrane and my water broke 4 hours later and my son was born 2.5 hours after my water broke

6/25 at 28wks I started PTL. I was 2cm dilated but still thick and high. Lost my MP that day too but it regenerated as I lost it at the start of July too. A little later I was 3cm, 70% effaced, but still high. I was like that until 9/4 when I walked for an hour at the hospital after being really dizzy and nauseated. That got me to 5cm. She was born 7 hours later after 2 hours of pitocin to get from 4cm to 5cm and 70% effaced to 100% effaced.

Not to discurage you but you can walk around dilated for days, weeks, or months. If your having painful contractions that's when I would get to the doctor to be monitored. I had painful cx's since 6/25 so if you are having them too they will get worse but not to bad until your water breaks. I didn't sleep for 7 days before she was born so I know how you feel. I've gotten more sleep now that she's born than I did during the 11wks of PTL.

my friend was 3cm and 100% effaced for a week before she went into labor! i am 75% effaced and not very dialated and its been a week since then and i'm still waiting to go into labor! but i know what you mean about wanting it to happen! i'm due this sat and just want to get it over with so i can hold my son! lol!

For my first baby I was 3 cm at 36 week check up, at 37 weeks my membrane tore and I went into labor. For baby #2, I was a little more than 1 cm at 39 week check up and she came one day later. For baby #3, I was not dialated at all at the 37 week check up, a week later I was in labor thanks to pitocin (I hate that stuff) because the amniotic fluids were low. Turns out I had a tear and it kept on fusing back.

At my 36 wk check last week I was 1cm and 50% effaced, this wk apt at 37 wk I was almost to a 2 and she never told me what I was effaced cause my cervix moved back up and she had a hard time getting to it. The next day after my apt I lost my mucus plug after 8:30 at night and still sitting here waiting for contractions to get stronger. I have not been told to stay home on bed rest for the last few weeks, so I continue to go to work and hope soon I go into labor.

With my son I was 1-2cm and 50% at 35-36wks then at 37wks I was 4cm and 50% and contracting every 5 mins my son was born 2 days later. This pregnancy I've been contracting since 33 1/2 wks and I'm only 1cm and soft - I'm hoping there will be some change at my 37wk appt. Hopefully you will not be pregnant much longer, and although I haven't been on bed rest for 2 months this pregnancy has been so much harder than my 1st so I am totally ready to pop this little boy out!! LOL!

I was 2 cm and 75% effaced at 37 weeks. I was 4 cm and 95% effaced at my 38 week appointment so my doctor went ahead and stripped my membranes and I went into labor 11 hours later. I know being pregnant sucks, but it's best to wait until at least 38 weeks for you to be induced or have your membranes stripped. Good luck on the new baby!
