I am just shy of 31 weeks and for the past few days I have been having cramping that feels like I have my period. I have had bowel issues throughout the entire pregnancy and was put on stool softeners last week hoping that would take my pain away. Well, they did take that pain away, but a couple of days after I started taking them I started getting this cramping. Anyway, since yesterday, it's been accompanied by severe back pain, hip pain, and pelvic pain. The pain is so bad it's to the point that I can hardly stand and walk. I have tried having a massage and taking tylenol, but that doesn't help. I really don't know what to do!! I don't want to call my midwife yet AGAIN and have her say it's probably just bowel issues again. So, what do you think, is it just bowel or is it something else?? I really need your help!!! Thank you!

Thanks Amanda, I almost wish it was labour( I know it sounds terrible!), than there would be an explanation for the pain! Thanks for the prayers, they help a lot!

I would call your midwife or doctor just to be on the safe side... just in case its labor and not bowel issues...

Thanks Dianne, I would really appreciate that. Even though they said the clot isn't anything to be concerned about it still freaks me out!!

Hi, thanks everyone. So I am laying in the hospital right now, have been here for over 24 hours. They don't really know what the pain is or where is it coming from. Everything with the baby is looking fine and I am only a fingertip dilated(which is probably a good thing cause I'm only 31 weeks). The did a formal ultrasound this morning and discovered that I have a blood clot on my placenta. They said it was on the baby side, so it wasn't really anything to be concerned about. They are keeping my here for the night again(hopefully I can go home tomorrow!) to make sure that they can keep my pain under control. As of yet, it's been difficult to control. I have had morphine, loads of tylenol, and ativan. So I guess we see what tonight and tomorrow bring. Thanks for your support ladies!

Please, please go to the hospital and get checked out. this isn't even a Drs office issue. you need to be monitored and watched for hours to determine whats going on. Take care

Im sorry honey. It may just be the pain of pregnancy or it may be something different. you know your body and when something is wrong. If you are really worried go to labor and delivery and have them check you out, if only for peace of mind. Doctors and midwives are used to first timers being scared and unaware of what pain they are experiencing. They also know how normal it is and how it can seem like an issue but isnt. If you have a lot of clear liquid coming out of you that doesnt abate, you have any bleeding, you have a lot of lower back pain that seems to get worse or you feel contractions that are 6 to ten minutes apart or you feel pressure at your pelvic area and a need to push dont panic just go to L&D and they will know what to do, good luck honey Im 31 weeks too! hugs and prayers.

I am 31weeks and I had the same pain, I went to the dr and they ran tests and did scans. they put it down to bub is right down in my pelvis in the ready position that its all the mussels stretching and getting ready for bub to come, I got told to rest and to keep off my feet when possible. They think that bub might come early. They also said that any pain like that should be checked out as it could have been something else so you should get it seen too. Good luck
