Is it normal for your vagina to hurt while pregnant?

I'll be 37 weeks pregnant in a couple of days and my vagina has been kinda hurting for a few days now and I was jus wondering if that's normal?? This is my first baby so I don't really know much of anything!

im 8weeks pregnant and feel uncomfortable around my private part and have normal coloured discharge is this normal and should i go to my doctors about this?? any advice would be much appriciated.

i started reading up on abdominal pain and discomforts and i saw a thing that said Round Ligament Pain.....it describes what im feeling exactly.....but i have a baby apt today so i will be talking to my OB-GYN and see what she says and thank you for the information...hopefully i figure out what it is and hopefully everything will be ok

Could be a sign of premature effacment or dialation. Better put your feet up often to take the pressure off your cervix and get that checked out.

mom doctor told me it was normal also, BUT I HAVE ALL READY been AT 1CM AND ONLY 24 WEEKS. It feels like i got kicked down there so bad that hurts to sit. my doctor wont do anything until my next appt. in sept. should I be worried.

Yes it's normal for your vaginal area to hurt around this point of your pregnancy,I went through the same thing with my children...It's totally normal,but very uncomfortable

I have been ignoring how much it hurts me. I can be swollen and hurt for hours to days at a stretch. I am 35 weeks and it started around 30 weeks for me and has gotten to be longer stretches of time that it lasts. Sometimes it's runs down the inside of my thighs as well and is accompanied by a almost burning/stretching feeling inside my body. I didn't have this with my first two boys, and was thinking that it's just that I am carrying a girl. My Dr. doesn't like to check anyone until 37 weeks, but when I go in next Monday I may mention this and see if they want to check a week early and see what they say. I've had contractions off and on since 25 weeks. They said it was normal to have the contractions since it's my third child.

I encourage you all experiencing this to get it checked out. While it is probably normal pressure and such, my friend had that pain and turned out she was "efacing" (or her cervix was thinning out) and she was 3 centimeters dialated when we finally convinced her to go to the doctor for the pain and 27 weeks. There are plenty of measure a doctor can take to reverse early efacment and contractions that may start down there, better to be safe than not.

ive been wondering the same thing about my parts hurting i am about seven months an having a girl its my first an i didnt know if it was natural for it to hurt. im guessing its is normale cuz of alot of the post i had read. but if you are experincing bleeding,cramps or contractions i do highly recomend you see your dr. so you ladies could have that releive of knowing whats going on with your pregnacy........ thank u ladies

I dont know if I should be worried but I am only four and a half months pregnant and I have been having a lot of pressure on my vagina it feels like it's going to rip at times, could the baby be gaining weight to fast or is it bad where I should see the doctor? I don't have any infections or stds, if I do I could only thing a yeast infection but it's not itchy just hurts :( please let me know what you ladies think! It would be greatly appreciated :)

I have the same problem. Sarah Mahoney is right, it's just round ligament (check with your doctor, just to double check). My doctor actually told me to get a maternity belt to help keep baby from moving in ways that cause the pain also.

yes it is normal i had it with both my boys! it is just that ur muscels are getting ready to give birth but don't worry it won't be till ur due date!

I have been getting pain in my pubic area also but it's more pubic bone pain, seems to get worse the more I'm on my feet. I also seem to feel the baby move in my pubic and rectal area, (sorry TMI, I know). I can no longer stand on one foot when putting on clothes, I have to sit to get dressed. I've discussed it with my DR and he said it's normal. Nothing to worry about unless I start bleeding, cramping or contracting and none of that's happened, knock on wood. Lately it's gotten worse, I can't lay on my back, if I do I get stuck and I have to call on the hubby to bring me upright. It's pure agony and I am not usually crazy about taking medication and more so now that I'm pregnant so I will be bringing it up next visit on Tuesday. I'm 32 weeks now and terrified that I will go into early labor since this is something I'm not used to, didn't have anything like this with my daughter. My mom seems to think cause this ones a boy that I'm carrying him lower and his kicks are just stronger. Who knows. I will let you know what my Dr seems to think, if it will help.

I just feel a large pressure more on my pubic bone. Is this the same thing? I find sitting in a recliner (I bought just for this pregnancy) helps. Also if I am on my feet for more than two hours I start feeling I guess small contractions..This kind of worries me and I will speak with my doctor about this Monday. However, anyone have any insight?

I am 28 weeks with my second and that happens to me occasionally. It is fine as long as it's not too intense or lasts too long. There is a ton more pressure than normal down there. I do find that using my muscles and purposely keeping my legs together helps a lot, like when she rides low its a bit worse.

Obviously, the most important thing to do is talk to your doctor at your next visit. On a personal note I had vaginal cramps and my doctor told me it was normal. She told me not to worry unless I started bleeding or contracting. My cramps felt like the baby had put so much pressure on the canal everything was swolen shut. It hurt to walk,sit or lie down. Tylenol helped.

I've had the same problem during both my pregnancies, more so this one for some reason. I was never concerned about it though. I have more pain this time round though as i have sciatica and SPD so from my wasit down, im in agony lol. I'm guessing it's probably all your muscles stretching/ relaxing ready for when you go into labour

I had the same thing happen to me around that time. For me it was round ligament pain, which can end up feeling like your laaaady parts are stretching or hurting. Mine got so bad that it didn't let up for about 4 or 5 hours and I could hardly walk. I would call your doctor just to be sure, but it's usually nothing to be worried about (unless you start bleeding). Hope things get better for you!

Oh, and here are some things that might help ease the pain. The thing that soothed me the most was taking a warm bath, or putting heat on my "lower regions" lol. Also, Tylenol is safe to take while you're pregnant, and that seemed to take the edge off for me. Things should get better in a little while :-)

Thanks for starting this convo! I've kinda wondered too. I get small little twinges of pian around mine and have been curious if anyone else has. I'm not far behind you, 20 weeks and 4 days and also pregnant for the first time =)
