It predisposes you and your baby to diabetes and your baby to obesity. Also your baby will be bigger and that's not fun. BELIEVE ME I KNOW!!!!

It's not good for your figure, but don't stress too bad. Just keep in mind baby gets what you get.

Chocolate mmmmm lol fine in moderation but the sugar and caffeine can be a problem like everyone else said, I wonder if they make decaffeinated chocolate... they should :p

I agree moderation is key. I ate a TON of dark chocolate while breastfeeding, too (like 2 big bars of it per day) and it took me months to realize the caffeine was passing through my milk and keeping my baby awake :( Poor thing!!! Stupid me! So just a heads up!

2 things firstly choc has caffiene - some woman are fine with drinking coffee etc, personally I'm avoid all drugs at the moment. a little choc wont have much caffiene but a lot will - with later on could cause a stressed out crying baby.
secondly the sugar content, eating lots of sugar and high GI foods like white flour, pasta, potatoes junk food etc in the last months causes baby to put on lots of fat, which they dont need whatso ever, and having a fatter baby makes delivery harder, more painfull and higher chance of baby getting stuck and you needing a c-section. In the end its totally upto you - weigh up the pros and cons. Also my best mate had intense cravings all through her pregnency and ate a lot of choc and other junk food - and she eneded up putting on too much weight, got pre eclampsia, high blood pressure etc and had to spend her last 2 weeks in hospital, she was really unhappy

I think it's not ok,even if you try to asked your doctor...chocolate produce more sugar too much sugar is not good for baby and you...and if you deliver normally it's better to have a medium baby in your womb extra large baby is so hard to deliver and i guess chocolate makes baby grow bigger in your womb..

to much chocolate is really bad for you beacuse most women get sick and also your baby will get fat, well chuby. and it will be harder to give birth. If you want choclate you should by a nestle chocolate milk mix and poor alil into your milk that way you consume less of chocolate and still get that graving filled.

I think in moderation I mean chcolate has caffinee in it so yeah you do have to be careful on how much. I loved chocolate with my first pregnancy I would go all out on a chocolate fix chocolate milk ice cream cookies and bars usually all at once but not every day maybe once a week or twice lol its hard cause thats what you crave but i do know its not good to eat ALOT.

I've craved chocolate as well! Yummy! I don't have any other caffiene, so what's wrong with a bit of chocolate every now and then?? I love my decaf mocha's! Do what you feel is right.

No :( As good as chocolate is, it contains caffiene. Which is bad to have large amounts during pregnancy. It's okay to have a little bit once in awhile though :)

I try to limit my consumption to one bar a day, but I know exactly how you feel! It was really hard over Easter with all that chocolate Easter candy!! I avoid it because of the caffeine and how it can mess things up with your baby, but I think in moderation is fine.

Well they say large amounts of caffeine are bad for the developing fetus. And while chocolate only has a small amount of caffeine, I would think if you eat enough of it, you could get a little bit up there in your caffeine intake...
But I want chocolate A LOT too (8 months pregnant), but I try to eat it in moderation.

With this pregnancy, all I have wanted is sweets, sweets and more sweets. I have tried to balance healthy choices with my candy and pastries but I have eaten so many of them I hate to admit it :) haha. Maybe drink some chocolate milk so at least you get the calcium and nutrients of milk along with your chocolate fix :) As long as you are getting some healthy food in there too and you aren't gaining too much weight, enjoy eating whatever you want...it's the only time in a woman's life when she has an excuse to overeat :)

you should never eat or drink alot of anything...too much of anything isnt good for you. just try and eat it in moderation. im sure it wont do any harm but you could put on some extra unwanted pounds lol
