is your doc going by scan dates or period dates??

Stay with ur period date! They kept changing my sons due date and I had him on the last date they gave me (oct 21) first due dates was oct 31st! My son was born with sevier lung problems! I almost lost him multiple times. Had to use cerfactant and also life lighted him up to a bigger hospital. Just let ur baby come wen he/she is ready.

Scan dates are so much more accurate, since they go by the measurement of the baby. Period dates are inaccurate, as not everyone ovulates on exactly the same day of their cycle.

mine went from Oct 12 to the scan date being Oct 15. but we are going off the 12th. you wont really give birth on that date so jus estimate fromt eh 4th to the 8th...thats what im doing

my dates are LMP 28th may
and scan date of 30th may.

so either way both are at the end of may, friday or sunday so both the same week aswell. but my midwife is going by LMP date.....so acording to that im due in 11 days....but who knows when she will come...could be tomorow or as late as 11th june (wich is my booked induction if she hasnt already come by then),

they say you can pop 2 weeks either side of your due date, so just a few days appart for scan and LMP really isnt anything to worry about.

i went of the first scan with my first and he came 2 weeks early full term baby..... this time around they have given me 3 diffrent date, 25th sep from my doctor and iv been for two scans and both were diffrent date. its rediculious...... wish they'd stick to a date!! so im just saying anytime after the 25th...... :)

My doctor is going by my scans! my periods were irregular my entire life ( i could have it 20 days to 60 days apart!)so when i went to my 1st dr appt they said i would be due sept 11 and that was going by my last period! when i got my 1st ultrasound an hr or so later they said i was due sept 18 because of the size of the baby! since then i have had one more ultrasound and they said its more like sept 19 but they aren't going to change it and are still going by the 18th! most babies aren't born on their due date anyways its just a way for you to know the general time you could go into labor! if i were you i would go by scans because they can more accurately determine the size of your baby and how far along you are!

my doctor is staying by my LMP. usually thats when they get the correct due date of the child (from my experience) but it does vary with different people but from what i hear, its mainly the LMP

I just had my first scan last week, and my dates were only off by one day, so they stuck with my LMP date which gives me a EDD of 12/12/10. I've been charting for a few years, so I know exactly when everything happened. AF, Ovulation, Implantation and Positive HPT!

My doctor is staying by my cycle dates. We had been trying for over a year, and I kept track of everything, so I know exactly when I ovulated, which was a day after they are suggesting. When it comes to the scans my son has measured a week or so ahead, but they are keeping the due date according to my cycle. Really the bottom line, is the kiddo will decide when it's time (unless you are being induced). Most of us don't deliver on our due dates anyhow, so I wouldn't worry too much. Good luck! If you are sure your cycle is right, go with that. I had the same thing happen with me with my first, i knew when i fell pregnant, as i was takeing clomid( fertillity drug). My scans never said the same date. But your baby will come when they are ready! Good luck

My doc is going my fetal development. So we add the two weeks our selves..... When a period is hard or difficult to pin point, they usually will go by fetal development. It's more precise that way as well.

My OB gave me an EDD of Sept. 4th. When I had my scan done, that date was only 2 days before (Sept. 2nd) but he kept it at the 4th anyway.

my doctor said im due on 3rd december by my period date, but my scan says i am due on november 29th, im just using both as an estimate as my 3 year old was due nov 15 but i had him november 21st and i went by both as they were around the same date anyway, but yeah he was a week late but use it as a guide as it could be early or late, good luck

My grandmother had passed away right before I conceived. I had been so stressed because of her declining health that I hadnt had a regular 4 week cycle for the 3 months before that. When I went to the doctor after I popped positive due to concern of a miscarriage, they told me that the scan showed I was 7 weeks 4 days along, which made my conception date my wedding night and me due Aug 25. When I went to my OB, they said because of the last time I had my period that I was due at the end of July, which was almost a month earlier. Their scans showed that, sure enough, I was due in August. The scans are much more accurate. Fortunately, your dates arent that far apart so you can expect to be due the first week of June either way.

i had this problem aswell and i didnt know which date to go by cause my period date was the 1st of may but my scan date is the 16th may so quite a big difference for me, i went by scan dates in the end but i wouldnt worry to much cause theres only a few days between your dates and babies very rarely come on the due date anyways :)

With my first pregnancy the midwives were adamant that i go by my LMP, which made my due date May 10th, even though i told them i had irregular cycles and that i knew the day i conceived... which made my due date May 23rd. I only got one scan at 20 weeks, and they didn't change my due date since the bigger the baby is, the less accurate it is to measure for age. So i ended up refusing induction for two weeks. I had to have non-stress tests and BPs every three days.. Finally i gave birth on the 25th of May (like i told them i would).



This pregnancy i went straight with my doctor rather than seeing the same midwives and at my first appointment, going by my LMP, my due date would be Dec 4th but when he did the exam he said "Hmmm, that doesn't feel like an 8 week uterus" and he did a scan that only showed the sac and a bit of placenta, which was right on for his guess of 5 weeks. On the 27th i'm going for another scan, which will hopefully corroborate my due date of Dec 25th.

i couldn't remember when auntie flow had visited so i had to have the scan. however all past babies (1, 2, and 3) were based off of the scan as they can measure the baby and use that to more accurately assess when you conceived. i'd go with the scan date.

they go by your period dates untill your scan depending on how baby looks and measures they then give you a date going by your scan and that will be your due date, but both are only a guide and baby will come when it's ready
