I know this may not be relevant to this group but I would like to get to know more friends from Circle of Moms.

I'm expecting my 1st child and is currently staying in Australia with my husband. I'm from Singapore and before I was married and pregnant, I was working as a cabin crew. So most of my friends are overseas and most of them kinda lost touch with me after knowing about my pregnancy. Its gets lonely & isolating. I would like to make friends with other mom to be or experienced moms so we could share experiences and chat. Since its my first, it can get overwhelming when u dun hv support from people who has not experience pregnancy & motherhood. Also hubby is the only sole bread winner so our finances are tight & we dun usually go out to socialize or spend much money except out love and time for each other.

Please do reply with your experiences and add me to your circle. Thank you!

They measure it during a sonogram. There are a few causes. 1 is you could be leaking fluid, another is the baby isn't urinating enough(possibly kidney and bladder problems for baby), your body could be metabolizing the fluid you intake before they make their way to your womb, or you could be dehydrated. In my case, my body is metabolizing the fluids I intake too much. At first they thought I was leaking but after more checking realized that wasn't it. It's a pain and can be stressful but it is going up and staying stable so far thankfully. Just means bedrest untill the baby is born for me and 2 visits to the doctors each week. It also means that my daughter will most likely be born early. We have been trying to prevent premature birth since I was 29 weeks and I am almost 33 weeks now. So I'm really glad to have new friends on circle of moms to keep me in good spirits!

@elizabeth: Gosh, u must be in so much discomfort now since u're closer to ur due date. I dunno if I can manage it cuz I hv quite a temper tho I've calmed down a lot since my pregnancy. It must be horrible to experience heartburn, u can't eat or drink well I guess. I'm just thankful dat I've never experience heartburn or even vomiting thruout my pregnancy tho I have terrible nausea, headache, low appetite & now severe lower back pain. I just put a pillow under my back when i'm sleeping or resting. Tho its such a weird and uncomfy position, it helps to ease my back pain and when it think its okay I will just put the pillow in between my legs for support.
Just wondering, how do dey know if u have low amniotic fluid & what causes it?

Mimi, I know just how you feel with the back pain. I can hardly get comfy anymore. I surround myself with pillows for support and it helps, but still hurts. But in my case, I've been on bedrest for almost a month so I'm stuck in the bed all the time. I also have been battling non-stop heartburn, I get it even from just drinking water and I have to drink 12-14 bottles of it a day because of low amniotic fluid. Thankfully I don't have too much longer to go!

Thanks Alexandra, Carolee & Elizabeth for your add. Its really nice to meet your acquaintance & I'm definitely looking forward to know you ladies a bit more. After reading all your replies I'm just relief to know that I'm not the only one facing this situation alone. I couldn't stop blaming myself but I find comfort knowing that I have meet new people who understands what I'm going through and I can come to you if I have any concerns.

I'm due around June,so it'll be a winter baby here in Australia. We couldn't find out the sex of the baby during the ultrasound scan because the baby refused to show us, LOL!!! I'm not disappointed though it would have helped a lot but I find it amusing & very adorable. What a modest baby =D

So how r u all coping with your pregnancy? I'm having severe lower back pain especially after I sleep. I tried everything but it doesn't seem to help. Its so frustrating because I can't get a good night sleep & in the morning when I wake up I feel so horrible with this excruciating lower back pain.

Hello,

My name is Elizabeth but most call me Liz. I'm almost 25 years old and I'm 32 weeks and 2 days pregnant with my first child. We're having a little girl and are very excited. My husband and I are newlyweds, we just got married January 3rd but have known each other since middle school. I didn't have a whole lot of girlfriends before getting pregnant but have lost a few that I did have. However, I ended up being lucky that a friend is pregnant as well and she is due 10 days before me. I've waited my whole life to be a mommy and just can't believe it is finally happening! It's been an adventure to say the least. I had slight complications very early into it and again now. Since I was 29 weeks along I have been on bed rest and recently got home after spending a week in the hospital. Our daughter is expected to arrive between 36 and 40 wks because of low amniotic fluid so it has kinda stolen the happiness away from me as there is so much worry. I love circle of moms, I have gotten so much support and love making new friends on here. Anyone that wants to add me to their circle is more than welcome and I wouldn't mind chatting either =)

Hello, Mimi. My name is Carolee. I'm currently 20 weeks (and a couple of days) pregnant with my second child. My son will be 3 years old in July, and my due date is actually the same day as his birthday! I am expecting a little girl this time, though. I am a stay-at-home mom and housewife. My husband and I just got married on New Year's Eve. I live in Indianapolis, Indiana. I have also lost all of my friends because I was the first to have a child. I'm always up for a chat and love to help other mothers if and when I can... but I also understand that, just because it's something I would do, doesn't mean anybody else would or should do it. I hope to chat soon.

Hi,

My name is Alexandria and i am currently nearly 32 weeks pregnant with my second child. I have a 4 year old son named Jaycob and we dont know the sex of this one. I understand what you are going through, althou my situation was different it was still kinda the same thing. I got pregnant with my son when i was 18 and my finace (at the time) and i had to grow up quickly and alot of our freinds didnt like that. They were still in the partying and drinking all the time phase and we could not do that anymore so we grew apart. It was hard being a young first time mum with no freind support and i have found circle of mums just fantastic for that reason. Now this time around i have been using circle of mums since we were trying to conceive and it has been wonderful. I appreciate all the ladies on here offering advice and sharing their stories its very comforting knowing others are going through the same thing as you.

So how far along are you? Do you know the sex? Have you got names picked out yet? I am due May 5th and we dont know the sex and we cant agree on names, so i think we are going to have a un named baby lol.

Anyways good luck to you and if you wanna chat let me know i am always up for talking!!
