I am having a little bit of a problem. A couple of days ago I started having SEVERE vaginal itching. I talked to my mom and then I put it off to a possible yeast infection. Well, everything was fine after that one night. I had sex last night for the first time since that night and nothing changed; everything was still okay. Well, tonight the itching started again. But now, I'm in SEVERE pain and I'm having some pretty rough swelling and inflammation in general... What do I do? I don't want to over react but I don't want to under react either....

Sounds like a yeast infection, go see your regular doctor.

Well I think we've established that it sounds like a yeast infection. :) I only get them during pregnancy and with my first one the doc had me use Monistat 7, but it did nothing. The only thing that helps me is not wearing underwear. I really hope it clears up for you soon! It's definitely not fun...

Most likely yeast infection, I've had them that bad. Whether or not, you still need some sort of medicine. If the doc is just something you absolutely cannot do, get some Vagisil or other yeast infection over the counter fighter. Refrain from having sex until it clears up....for one, that irritates it, and two, your partner can get it. If your partner gets it, you both will just be passing back and forth. DO NOT TAKE A BATH. Shower. Baths keep the infection longer, and can also cause them. Take a warm wash cloth and hold it "down there". It will soothe it. Don't use soap directly on the area. Irritation. Hope I helped.

Yep, go straight to the doctor! You don't want to mess around with having any type of infection down there... even something wrong on the outside can end up hurting things on the inside if you're not careful. Good luck, and call and make the appointment right away.
