Update: I'm finally going home!!!! The fluid level has raised even higher so I'm sitting here waiting for my discharge papers. I am beyond excited! The baby girl is healthy as can be(and has been this whole time) though she is already head down. But they said that's ok, she hasn't dropped yet and can stay head down for awhile before she's ready. I'm 32 weeks on Saturday so if she can stay in at least 4 or 5 more weeks then we'll be great. And I'm really happy that we don't have to cancel the baby shower lol.

Thank you so much for all of the prayers and such. I see my obgyn early next week and the specialist on thursday so I will go ahead and update about that. In fact, I will probably continue to update untill her birth since you never know, the fluid could go down again but I sure hope it doesn't! Again thank you everyone!!!!!

I will keep you and baby in my prayers. Just remember that once you hit 30 weeks your odds of having a healthy baby increase dramatically. My sister had her baby at 23 weeks. He stayed in the hospital for a long time but he is a healthy 9 month old now. Try not to stess out, that could put you into labor faster than anything. Take it easy and trust that God knows what he's doing.

I know it seems tough at this moment in time but when you hold your little girl in your arsm everything (well mostly everything) will be forgotten. My first pregnancy was a pretty tough one but my little girl was the outcome and she is my world. She was born at 35weeks and was fine so here's wishing you luck that whenever your little girl makes an appearance she will be fine. Your in our thoughts and prayers. Good luck and take care.

Keep your head up. I know it must be hard and you dont want to be there but if its what your daughter needs. As far as your dr I would ask for a second opinon and tell him to shove it!!! Could when someone comes to vist you bring a few outfits for you to pick from for when your daughter comes home? And you can always have a baby shower after you come home. I know not what you want. Message me if you want someone just to listen and try to cheer you up!!

Update: The doctor I am seeing now apparently gave me false hopes which I suppose was his way of making sure I do my part to more fluid. I saw him this morning for a sonogram and the fluid is pretty much back up to where it was when I was at home on bed rest. I had been told that if the fluid went up then I could go home. Well he refuses to let me go home. I desperately want to go home so I of course was in tears and I'm embarassed to admit but was actually pretty hysterical. All he does is repeat things regarding my daughter then looks me in the face and tells me he doesn't give a damn about how I feel or that I'm upset. And he did that 3 times.



I've already been getting depressed and now it's really bad----getting worse by the minute. I want my daughter to be as close to full term as possible and for her to be taken care of. But I really, really, really don't want to be here. This is not how it was supposed to be. My husband and I haven't even been married 2 months and I'm already hardly ever seeing him. Everyone I know has had a baby shower, I had to cancel mine. Everyone I know has had their maternity photos done, I had to cancel that too. They also have all been able to set everything up for their baby's arrival. I haven't even gotten to pick things out, much less set them up the way I want. Other people are doing it. I haven't even gotten to pick out her clothes, not even the clothes she will go home in. I'm missing out on everything and honestly I'm feeling like this isn't my baby anymore. It's my family's baby and I'm just the incubator. I have zero part in anything other than the medical part is how it seems.



Sorry that was more than an update but I'm just so upset and have nowhere else to vent. I get another sonogram on Thursday and the doctor said again that if the fluid is higher I can go home, but considering he lied to me about this once I'm not going to believe him at all.

I promised an update, so here goes. I went to the specialist this morning and it was found that the fluid is even lower, they could only find one pocket of it. So I have been admitted to the hospital. I'm very unhappy at this point. I won't be able to have my daughter at our hospital as they don't have the proper equipment. So, I'm in a hospital 30 minutes away from both mine and my home. I also won't be able to have my doctor deliver my baby. I'm quite upset over that. The idea is to keep me here untill she is born......unless by some miracle the fluid gets up to normal(which I doubt). So I'm 30weeks and 5 days along and could deliver at anytime.

At least the baby still looks healthy, though she is still under 3lbs. Please keep praying and thank you for the prayers already prayed.

wow im so sorry to hear that i hope all goes well for u and the little one stay in bed all u can one year ago i was 17 weeks and my water broke my baby died but it was becouse my water broke but i am 18 weeks once again and everything is fine this time so i hope the best for u and the baby u r in my prayers i will pray for u tonight keep us up to date please

Hi Elizabeth! I'm praying for all of you. A family friend of mine actually went through the same thing, except she delivered at 24 or 26 weeks. It took a lot of work and patience and heartache, but they got through it and now their son is doing great and developing well and is healthy and amazing! So keep up the hope as much as possible. We had a scare about our son too with a genetic disease that usually ended up in a stillborn birth, so I kind of know where you're coming from. It's a scary thing, but the best thing you can do is take care of yourself and like other people have said, stay positive. I truly, truly believe in the power of your heart and the power of a Mommy's mind. If you believe and keep faith that your baby will be safe and protected, then she will be. Yes, there is a chance she'll be born early, but just keep doing the right things, take care of yourself and do what the doctor instructs. They may drive you nuts sometimes, but they're always going to take care of you and your baby. Utilize the nurses as much as you can. Keep us posted if you can!♥

I know how you feel I started leaking fluid at 30 weeks with my first son, and was put in the hospital and put on bedrest, antibiotics and also given the steriod shot to help with his lungs, I ended up delivering at 32w 5 days. To a healthy 3lbs 11 oz baby boy. The steriod shots really help and as long as baby stays in the womb for like I think it was 48 hrs after the steriod shot it really helps their lungs. The longer you can just relax and don't worry I am sure everything will be just fine. I know it is scary but your doctor is watching you and if you aren't in the hosptial yet that must mean they aren't too worried I was put right in the hospital as soon as I started leaking. My prayers are with you at this time.

My thoughts and wishes are with you and your family,I am currently 32-33 weeks (with my 1st GIRL !)and i have twins and and 8, 9 yr old boysI I delivered my twins at 31 weeks and they were 4.2lbs and 4.3 lbs and they will be 6years old in Apr. and big strong heathly and smart no problems:). Happy to hear all is good so far, so keep up the good work you WILL get through this ! Eat eat eat some more ! :) (I don't know how much it helps...but hey its fun to have an awesome excuse to eat as you please ! LOL :)
Any ways I am sure all will be just fine, there's been babes delivered at a much younger gest.age . TTFN ! :) Meggz

I can't believe all the encouraging responses I've gotten! Thank you so much for your prayers, well wishes, and stories! It truly does help alot!

I went to see my regular obgyn this morning and was put on the monitor for about 30 minutes. Maddison's heartbeat is still strong and I didn't have any contractions show up either. My vitals were great also. On thursday we go back to the specialist for another sonogram, cervix exam and non-stress test. Hopefully she will have gained some more weight and the amniotic fluid won't have decreased anymore. I will be sure to update after that appointment! Thank you again everyone!

dont freak out it will probaly only make things worst. my friend actually delivered her baby boy at 29 weeks he weighed 2 lbs and 9oz and he does have a lot of special problems that he needs extra care for but he is alive and happy he is a year old now and to me he is perfect and your baby will be too. her whole pregnancy was tough though so i think you are in a better situation. i hope for the best and keep me updated on how things are going.

Number 1 I am praying for you. Number 2, I went threw that with my son. Although I was 5 months when we found out. They also gave me the shot to help his lungs and the bedrest. It was hard for me but if you think about it like I did you will make it threw. I saw it as doing the best for my baby to make sure he was healthy. And try to remember to not get worked up because the stress can make it worse. And trust me I know that telling you not to stress isn't easy for you. Just take it easy and you and baby will be ok!

Thank you everyone! I have an update, just as I promised. I went yesterday evening to get my second steroid shot and Maddison's heartbeat was really great. This morning I went to see the specialist and got mostly good news. The amniotic fluid surrounding her is still low and if it gets any lower I will be immediately hospitalized untill her birth. However, she is measuring really great. She gained an ounce in 2 days so the shots seem to be working well so far. The doctor was also pleased with my cervix size. I am not dilating or effacing either. They performed a stress test and that came out perfect as well. So other than the possible hospitalization, things are looking ok at the moment.



I will be seeing my regular obgyn on Monday and then two specialist on the 25th, though she may take me down to just one specialist as they would be doing the same things. I will have 2 appointments per week untill I deliver and our goal is to make it to 34-36 weeks, I will be 30 weeks along tomorrow and they want her to get to at least 4lbs before birth. She is weighing in at 2lbs and 11 ounces right now. I will continue to keep everyone updated.

I read about this happening to another mom. Start drinking lots and lots and lots of water. This is what she did. The drs told her there was virtually no chance her baby would survive and she did. They were amazed. The fluid levels surrounding her baby increased and the baby was born healthy. She had a blog somewhere on the internet. Good luck to you.

My best friend had the same problem, her daughter was born 5 weeks early, the only problem with her daughter is that she was born with clubbed foot, but everything else is good with her. I'll be praying for you

Thank you so much everyone! There hasn't been anything new really, just going to the hospital this evening for a second shot and see the specialist tomorrow morning. We are keeping our fingers crossed that by doubling my fluid intake each day I can have more fluid around her so she will stay in longer.

To Virginia, I will most def be praying for you and your baby every day. They also told me that I didn't cause it or can it be fixed. I'm going to pray you not only make it to 24 weeks, but maybe even to 34 weeks!! Good luck hun!

I am going through this exact same thing! It is so scary... and the worse part is they say there is nothing I did to cause this, nor is there anything I can to fix it. I am 22 weeks 5 days and they said they are praying I make it to 24 weeks. I am praying for you guys too! Please let me know how it goes!
