I have my left nipple pierced, I've had it for almost 4 years and was wondering what you think. Should I take it out or not? I'm currently 30 weeks 3 days and am planning on breastfeeding my baby girl. What should I do? lol plz help

i also have my nipple done and you can leave it in unless its causing you pain and irritation but you have to take it out when breastfeeding because the baby has difficulties latching on and stuff then sterilise it and put it back it when your finished breastfeeding you just have to sterilise it because of infection that "just in case" everyone talks about good luck xxx

I have my nipples pierced. I took them out so my nipples would not change shape and jewelry smells after a while. I have left the rings out for 2 years and they did not close. you will probably get an infection if your bf and put them in even if you take them out to feed. and chances are there for baby to swollow them

just as long as its not in when feeding baby, but you might find it more prone to getting infected if your taking it out and putting it back in for every feed - so it might be easier just to take it out and get it redone when you wean.

You don't have to take out nipple piercings accept for when you breastfeed your baby, they're is no known risks in keeping it in other than that though accept you might be hurting lol

I think the reason ive had it in so long is because i lost my first at 4months preg so i was used to my nipples being sore n they never really stopped

wow you managed to keep it that long? I had both done after my boy (2nd baby) and Im now 17 weekd and had to take them out a few weeks ago coz my nipples grew dramatically!! I wasnt planning to b/f but I now will coz I really do think its better for the baby. If you decide to take it out then realise that it will close over rather fast :)
