[deleted account] ( 5 moms have responded )

I am 11-14 weeks pregnant with my second child and had shoots of pain through two of my toes for a week... then my left leg has gone numb like, then my arm, I am pretty well numb all over but more in the left side and its worse at night, I just cant get comfy at all its driving me batty. Any who I have made a doctors appointment cause I could wait till my app with midwives, has any one else experienced any thing like this???

oh the sciatica.
The uterus is applying pressure on your sciatica, causing your left leg/foot to go numb.

I still have this going on and it can be a real pain..
I've had this since 14 weeks and I'm 26 now, most likely this will continue my whole way through (I'm not very tall so not a lot of places the baby weight can go.. lol)

it's SUPER common and doesn't have any permanent effects from what I was told by my doc.
Just not very comfy :/

propping my leg up helped me!

when that was happening to me my dr told me the baby was settin on my syatic nerve.. from my back down my whole left leg would go completely numb but still have shooting pains!! theres not much you can do but hope the baby moves and doesn't stay like that through your whole pregnancy.. i was 28 weeks when it started and it stoped around week 35.. good luck!

sorry, the only numbing i get is if i sit on a hard surface. i've had this since about 18 weeks. i never heard of it before. i know baby sits low for the first couple of months so it could be resting on artery/veins?
