"out of body" feelings?

Today and part of last night I have felt completely NOT myself. Like I'm completely coherant (sp?) and know what I'm doing, but I feel like at the same time I'm watching myself from the outside.

My body (belly included) feels tense, kinda like the feeling your body gets when you're nervous or anxious... but it isn't registering in my mind that I feel that way. In my head I feel at least partially normal.

I've heard of having an "out of body" experience while giving birth, but has anyone had it happen before you went into labor with your child?

**Note: I am due on June 20th, so I dont have even a week left, so I was wondering if this was normal.**

Thank you Natalie! I think that did put my mind at ease a little.
I'm still having the "out of body" feeling again today, and the tightness in my entire body, so I'm going to mention that to my doctor tomorrow at my appointment. I'll see if they know if its common or not.

Out of Body experiences, may be just the way your body/mind/spirit is preparing itself for labour...the mind is a powerful thing so this could be its mechanism to prepare for the intensity of labour. When I was in my yoga teacher training my teacher spoke of outerbody experiences and how it happens naturally sometimes as a way to cope or help a person through a challenging time. But i'm no expert! lol I wouldnt worry about it, really embrace it. I wish you luck throughout labour! :)
