Shower and other thank yous

In this day and age is it rude of me to send thank you notes through the Internet? We just moved about a month ago and resources are still at a gigantic premium. In other words postage costs alot for people I already friended or could find on Facebook or e-mail to say thanks.

Thanks ladies! Think I'm going for a mix of both. E-thanks for the tech savvy and handwritten for the old school of my crowd.

Save the trees :) Don't use paper stick with e-cards and explain why cos you are trying to save the planet for your Baby's Future :)

I must be old fashioned. I think the best thing to do is to mail the thank you cards. I understand that times may be tight, but you also have to realize that the least we all can do when people spend their money on us, is send a thank you and the cost of a stamp. Good luck with settling in to your new place, and I hope things get easier!

I would suggest with younger people it's typically ok. but for grandparents and other older people at the party you might want to send a physical thank you out for them. Also if you have a teck-savy older person/grandparent who would be fine with an e-thank you then go for it.

I maybe old fashioned, but I think you should hand write and mail the thank you notes! Especially if you mailed the invites, then you should mail the thank you notes. I know how expensive it is but you dont have to mail them all at one time.
If you emailed the invites, then email the thank yous.
Its really up to you.

I totally agree! In this day and age there is no reason why an e-thank you should be inappropriate.

well, I've had 2 showers already and then I'll be having one more tomorrow. For the first two I wrote thank yous...but one shower was thrown by classmates (which I see everyday) and the other was thrown by co-workers (which I see everyday) so I was able to hand-deliver them. However, the next (last) shower is going to be thrown by my family...which I live over an hour away from. So, I am pretty sure that I am going to be doing electronic thanks yous for the last one! I will still personalize each one, but it will be cheaper and quicker this way! I've received wedding invites via e-mail and it was not a big deal at all. It just saves me from having to throw the card away months later :)
