I had this issue for about 1-2 weeks towards the beginning of my third trimester. My doctor told me that some women develop a form of arthritis during pregnancy. She also said the it could be carpel tunnel. Either way, it only goes away when the swelling goes down. I was lucky, because I didn't swell much, but some women in my new mother class had it for the entire last half of their pregnancies. Hope you feel better soon... isn't it funny how our mothers never told us these things?
I had sore knuckles as well. My bf gives hand massages which helps relieve some of the pain and my midwife also gave me wrist splints to wear at night because she said it was carpal tunnel which is caused due to swelling in the wrists. My wrists aren't swollen really but she said even the slightest swelling can pinch the nerve and cause the pain.
