It's probably round ligament pain, totally normal as it's loosening and stretching.

officaly.. Braxton-Hicks contractions.. the 'fake' or 'pratice' ones.. doctor's advice.. drink a glass of water and lay down... what's happening.. your uterus is contracting in little areas.. strengthening for the eventual delivery of your baby. ALTHOUGH... if you are very concerned.. you cna have it checked out.. theis is VERY common. don't worry too much. the time to worry is if you get what feel like menstrual cramps... that last a long time... but honestly.. if you are uneasy then seek your doctor.. but don't live in fear.. you are most likely alright! :)

I get this alot... It could be growing pains and also there is not much room in there (I am 30 weeks) I find if I eat a big meal I get it or if I need to empty my bladder... try making more room by eating more but smaller meals and empty your bladder when it is full (still drink lots of water though, it helps with preventing stretch marks, dehydration and prevnts fluid retention).

i was getting a really strong like stabbing pain in lower right side of stomach, went to doctors, had ultrasound on kidneys, gall bladder and liver was told duplicate kidneys on right side. i have also now been getting a pain just under my ribs, asked about it at hospital visit they think it could be an infection. so i think you should go see a doctor about it. better safe than sorry!! was just wondering if anyone knows why im getting a really sharp pain down right side of my back? it goes round to stomach aswell. am 36 weeks prego atm

try laying down and in a few minutes it should go away, i get it almost every day depending on my activity. it is behind my ribs and all the way thru directly to my back, kinda like something is going right thru me in my right side ribs and back, nothing helps but my bed or standing (sitting is when it hurts the most) really makes going out to dinner hard

Cassandra - Thank you. I am glad your son is okay. I have an appointment on Tuesday and I will make sure to ask for blood work because of this. I've still been experiencing it quite a bit.

I had this pain with my first at 31 weeks. GO TO THE DOC DEMAND BLOOD TESTS! Im not trying to scare you. I had HELLPS. The pain was my Liver apparently. I was getting it on and off for a few days and my doc told me it was nothing when I would call. One morning after it keeping me up I went to the Doc and demanded to be seen and I ended up having my son 4hr later. It may very well be nothing but better safe than sorry. Other things to look for are, itchy palms of hands and feet, swelling in the face hands feet, high BP, bad head aches, dizzy, seeing floaters..... I didn't have any of these but the pain which is why they kept telling me it was nothing. If I would have just went from the start I would have had time to the steroids but I didnt get anything. I am so Lucky my son was OK.

I just had that same pain on Sunday. I'm 31 wks and I was bending down and cleaning are shower and all of sudden the pain just hit me on the right side, like I was beening stabbed. It was in my ribs and I couldnt move and I had to take slow breaths cause if I took deep breathes it hurt. I went and laid down and took a nap for about a hour and then I was better.. I have heard its just growing pains. This is my 3rd pregnancy and I dont remember having growing pains like this. Nice to know Im not the only one .

ive had similar pains w both pregnacys doc said growing pains but if ur worried i would def go to hospital better safe than sorry goodluck

I also went to the doctor with a similar pain about a week and a half ago. I am 28 weeks. luckily nothing was wrong but I was dehydrated and they said that can cause the pains. I thought I was drinking enough but have started being a lot more aware of how much I am drinking and drink lots and lots of water!

i went to hospital with this sort of pain yesterday. my daughter woke me up at 5.30am and i noticed i was getting sharp pains on my right side....sort of stabbing feeling. i took a warm bath and some pain killers but still didnt get any better. so at lunch time i got my sister to take me up to the hospital. they made me do 2 urine tests, 3 blood tests and a smear test. they also put baby on a heart monitor for about half an hour to make sure my pain wasnt something causing her stress.

baby and me seem to be fine, i have to call the hospital back on friday to see what all my tests came back like. the doctor gave me some stronger painkillers that were safe to take with baby and said that because i have no bleeding or swelling its probably just streching. she said if it carrys on for a few days or the pain gets worse i should come back.

im nearly 29weeks pregnant, and its my second...i really didnt think it was growing pains because i never felt this with 1st pregnancy...but the pains seem to have gone away with the pills they gave me.

if i was you id go and get cheked out just to be on the safe side....its probably nothing to worry about but it would be best to have it confirmed.

if it goes away then it might be nothing, but if you're concerned you should go in...just to be safe.
upper right side pain can be serious. it can mean something is wrong with your liver or signs to preeclampsia. i tell you this not to scare you, but as someone who has had this pain and had preeclampsia, it is better to know than not to. it might just be nothing so i wouldn't get worried, but checking with your doc would be smart.

i had this a couple nights ago, went in and it wasn't anything...glad i went in though.

It's most likely round ligament pain, as that tends to hit just one side or the other. Your uterus and the ligaments attached to it can become inflamed and very bruised-feeling. I've been having a lot of abdominal aches and pains like this, and that's what my midwives keep telling me. And another thing it could be: When I went to L&D over the pain at one point, the doctor examined my abdomen and thought that I was feeling abdominal separation. When I read up on it, it certainly does seem like I have it. It won't hurt the baby, though, so try not to worry!

I had that the other day for a few hours I am 33 weeks almost 34 I would not worry too much babies give you all kinds of weird annoying pains, but it is better tto be safe than sorry so if you feel you need to then by all means ask somebody
