I kept a waterbottle in the bathroom and filled it with warm water every time I had to use the toilet. I would just squirt water down there and it takes away the burning sensation. It helps A LOT! Stiches are NO fun :O

Baths are ok,but you'll find the water turns things gluggy and pruney --- not that good for an area that needs to dry out to heal. For the first few days you can use frozen condoms filled with a lil bit of water. Just sit it in between your whooha and your pad- it works to relieve discomfort. But seriously, you wont feel them after a day or so! If they're sore when you go to do poos, hold a cleanpad over the area to give yourself a bit of support. Stops u feeling like your insides are going to drop out!
Sorry for the TMI!

You can take sit baths with no soap or anything just warm water. But short baths no longer than half an hour.

I had quite a few stitches and still to this day have discomfort where I had torn, and that was almost 8 months ago! To relieve the pain I used witch hazel pads, soaked a diaper, opened it up and froze it and sat on it, and kept a water bottle in the bathroom and squirted in while I pee'd. The hospital also gave me some ''Dermoplast" Pain Relieving Spray, it worked wonders and I ended up using two bottles!

With my 2nd son I had a LOT of stitches and the best item i was given was a frozen condom to "sit" on for a while - amazingly its the right size and shape and works wonders :)
