I'm between 34 and 35 weeks and by some miracle haven't gotten any stretch marks on my tummy, however........my hip and butt look like a road map! I'm only 5'3 and weighed 100lbs before pregnancy but in my mid to late teens started getting some curves there and got some then but they had faded. At around 23 weeks I could see the old ones slighty and about 2 weeks ago I started noticing the new ones. They are out of control!!! I took my shower on Wednesday and took a look before getting dressed and was disturbed lol. Thursday I got nauseated in the shower and didn't take a look. I took a shower today and was totally horrified that they had multiplied since Wednesday. If there is any advice on how to get them to fade, like creams and such that would be awesome. I'm going to be having my daughter in a few more weeks and we live in Texas so it's almost swimsuit time as well as too hot to stay outta the pool lmao!

Also, is anyone else having them increase so fast? Or anyone getting them only other places other than the tummy? Just curious to see =)

So my doc says strech marks are genetic, your either going to get them or you wont get them at all, the up side is they fade, just drink lots of water and keep lotion and vitiman e oil on them remeber that the higher the i.u. of the oil the better it works but also the more expensive it is. just dont waste too much money on creams and such because in the end its your bodies decision if its going to strech or not :) good luck

I didn't get any this time around. But with my first pregnancy I got them on my boobs and the sides of my butt. SUCKY! They have faded. I think the only reason I got them was because I am a super small person and my boobs grew from a B to D really fast and my hips spread really fast too. Think the only reason I haven't got them this time is my body has already stretched itself out before. WOOHOO cause I really don't want anymore of those!

I'm 34 weeks and mine would sometimes appear overnight! mine are on my belly though but yes, they are totally overtaking my abdomen! It seems like there is more red than white on my belly now but oh well. There's nothing you can do. I put lotion on and everything but if your body grows that fast, its bound to happen.

I think you may be more susceptible if your family is prone to them, but my mother got them EXTREMELY bad and I still don't have any, (in response to Danielle W's post) so you can do it! Keep your diet healthy and curb your cravings! (Give in- just don't over do it :)

Sorry to tell you, but you can try all the creams you want, but I was told that getting stretch marks is hereditary. The big surprise is that they get worse once the baby is out and your body starts to go back to normal. Sorry to tell you, but it's a part of motherhood.

I just apply shea or cocoa butter, they also have an oil called Weleda Pregnancy Body Oil that I use that seems to be helping. I don't have any except for one on my navel piercing but thats only cuz I didn't switch to a maternity ring soon enough, and I am 31 wks now. I also have friends that swear by vitamin E oil, you just buy it in capsule form at any health food store, break the capsule and rub the oil over susceptible areas.

I am so with you. I was really short and then grew like 4 inches over the course of a summer when I was in middle school and got them all over my butt and hips. They faded, but since I have always felt like a zebra or something. I was really hoping I wouldnt get that many more during my pregnancy. Im about 26 weeks now? I havent gotten any on my belly yet, THANK GOD, thats what IM most worried of, but my boobs. My poor boobs. They went from 34b to 36D+ and they seriously look like I got bit by some comic book radioactive spider and you can see the venom coursing through me under my skin. They have just gone nuts. They started underneath them and have stretch up my cleavage to the tops, and are now working their way around the outer sides and up. I guess bikinis are not in my future. I seriously get depressed looking at them.

Ive had endless people tell me there is no point putting on lotion, cause if youre getting them youre getting them, and when they FIRST showed up, I had been doing it religiously, and stopped for 3 days, and BANG there they were. I started again twice a day, stopped for 2 days, and got 2 new marks on the tops of my boobs. I dont know if its related to stopping the lotion, but I know Im not risking it from here on out. I also hear nothing works to rid them. Except maybe like mederma scar treatment. I havent started that yet though. Figure they might as well get as bad as they are gonna get first.

*cries* MY BOOBS! =( =(

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do....I have them all over my belly from my first child, and thought "Hey, I shouldn't get anymore this time around", only to find that some of them are getting longer with this pregnancy! I also got them on my hips and with my first pregnancy, my chest grew so much, so quickly at the beginning, that I have them on my breasts too....I guess I am just prone to them....but rest assured....they do fade!!!

Use lots of lotion (shea or cocoa butter) and try and kick your feet up as often as you can. I only have a few on my breasts so far and I am 37 weeks and PRAYING that my good fortune continues, but if it doesnt... just know that your body is the first (but not last!) sacrifice you will make for your daughter. Its worth it and all you can do is smile... and try not to scratch. Good luck!

well mine just showed up and everyday there after it seems theres more and more and its outta control!! sadly...mine are allll over my tummy! =( no more bathing suits for me! they are dark too. according to the doctor there is nothing to do while u r pregnant. but after...besides just letting them fade on their own as they supposedly will...u can buy creams to help but none are proven to guarantee good results so u basically have to wait it out and see wat happens. sorry!

They will never go away but you can help to prevent new ones by using 100% shea butter or 100% cocoa butter whenever you feel itchy. DON'T SCRATCH whatever you do.

I lasted 32wks before getting any stretch marks, i use different lotions, belly butter and such, it does make them appear lighter and it takes the itching away. From what i hear and see from my girlfriends who are mommies already they do fade after delivery :)

Oh sweetie welcome to motherhood!!!lol Very few prego women do not get some sort of stretch marks. I was lucky not to get the red ones but I have a boat load of the white ones, they always fade but are still there....it's a badge of motherhood...lol
