i think my inlaws are going to buy our stroller and they are leaning towards a travel system, (stroller and infant car seat) i think i wouldn't use the infant seat as a carrier as i want to use a moby carrier is the infant carrier still a good idea or should i just get a stroller and an all in one car seat? also what is your favorite stroller and why?

We got a Britax Car seat and stroller travel combo and it was SO nice! It was little to no work to buckle in the car seat, and as Cecelia mentioned our son would ALWAYS fall asleep in the car so it was nice to be able to let him continue sleeping once we got to our destination. The stroller that we got with it works really well, it has the toddler conversion that we use with him now at even 22 months. My sister in law also used it for 6+ months with her little one and it's still in great condition for us to use on our second were expecting.

I had a travel system for my 19 month old and he could no longer use it in Nov. bcause the strapes to put him in the stroller part was only made for infants, not toddlers. This time I bought a sit and stand stroller. I hope this lives up to my expectations. You can put the car seat in the front on the chair part of the stroller and buckle it in. Then you also have the platform in the back of that for older children. The kid can also turn around and face you and sit on another platform made for sitting. (can buckle in). I hope this helps you. Take careful consideration of family size and what you will do with your stroller and car seat. It would be a shame to lose anywhere from 120+ dollars on something you do not like.

The travel system is convient but if you have your heart set on using the Moby, then let your inlaws know this. I am planning on using the Eddie Bauer convertible seat with a light weight stroller and a sling.

It depends on how you want to parent your child and how much room you have to carry things around. I have a small car and the travel system stroller would take up the whole trunk and getting the seat in and out would be difficult. If you really want the extra bonding that comes with "wearing" your child, then stick with the wrap.

I agree with the other two! you will use it more than you think! I too like to use a carrier like the Moby, if my baby is awake I would switch her to the wrap, if not, just switch the car seat from the base to the stroller. I can't recommend a brand of stroller, I'm not crazy about the one I have... depending on where you want to use it, make sure it has big enough wheels on it for the terrain! We go to the park often and it's hard to push on the grass... AND some strollers are really hard to control (turn) with one hand. (Convienience(sp) with 2 a toddler and a newborn!)

i used the travel system for my first 2 and hated it!!! having to always drag it in and out, buckling it and i have a small car so it was a real pain...this time i'm using a stationary seat, and a snuggley to carry baby, or just daddy lol

i completely agree with cecelia. there is nothing worse than having to wake up a sleeping infant just to have to put them in another carrier. the peace of mind alone is worth it in my opinion. i dont know what i'd do without my travel system.

I found that a travel system was a huge help. My kids would always fall asleep in the car and it was so nice to be able to unlatch the carseat from the base in the car and latch it on the stroller without waking up my sleeping angels.....
