Ok, I have already talked to my doctor and she doesn't seems concerned but I need some help!! I am now 30 wks pregnant and can't sleep. I know that the farther into pregnancy you go the less you sleep, but this is getting silly. I sleep for aout 30-45 min at a time and then spend and hour or two tossing and turning until I fall asleep for another 30-45 min. I don't sleep through the night so I end up taking naps all day long. When I mentioned it to my doctor her solution was to give me a B-12 shot!! I don't need energy during the day I just need to sleep more at night!!!

If anyone has any suggestions on how to get a little more sleep I would greatly appreciate it!! I know that loosing sleep is normal but something has to give!

Do you have a body pillow supporting your stomach, back and knees? I do not have one personally, but I have heard the work wonders. I too have a hard time with sleeping and it is only getting worse, but I have found that if I place a little pillow under my belly, one around my back and a little one between my knees/ankles that I sleep much better.

It is SO HARD to sleep when your pregnant. I'm only 22 weeks & I already know what you mean... Sleep for an hour, up for an hour.
Make sure you're always in a comfortable possition, try drinking warm milk, taking a warm bath, eat a banana (I know that sounds weird, but it has tryptophan in it.) Just do anything you would normally do to try to fall asleep. Hopefully it will help you stay asleep longer as well.
Try not to nap during the day, you'll be more tired, and more apt to sleep at night.

I know exactly how you feel. I'm not losing quite as much sleep as you, but the majority of the time I'm in bed at night is spent tossing and turning all over the place that by some miracle my husband sleeps through. My baby just won't stop kicking at night or else she pushes down in places that make it impossible to sleep. I see my obgyn next week for a sono and I really hope she has a better solution that yours did! I have noticed that taking a warm bath just before bed does help both me and baby relax some, that could be worth a try(just make sure your partner is around to get you in and out of the tub). Good luck!
