Too small to have NT scan at 12.3 weeks

Keep in mind that doctors go by the average 28 day cycle and that everyone ovulates on day 14, when i when for my first scan i knew i was a bit further along then my doctor said and it was confirmed when i had my 12 week scan that i was indeed a week further along, the reason i think it was out the first time was because my doctor was calculating it by the fact that i would have ovulated on day 14 and concieved around then but i know for some reason as i do sometime have very long cycles i didnt ovulate and hence concieve till around day 21, so here was woreking it as if my first day of my period was 2 weeks before i ovulated/concieved whereas it was more like 3 weeks before i ovulated/concieved which then made me a week further along than he predicted if you cant make sense of all that.

also even if you have a normal 28 day cycle you still might not ovulate on the days you expect. with my daughter i was getting a good monthly cycle and my scan showed that i fell pregnant from only a few days after my period finishd. so even though i has a 28 day cycle i didnt ovulate at day 11-15 like normal i infact ovulated at day 6-8. so it could be posible that you might have ovulated later then you thought you was going to.

with this pregnancy i was having 21-22 day cycles so asumed i was ovulating at around day 9-10 but at the scan it attualy showed that i fell pregnant while on a period!!! even though i didnt have intacorse while i was bleeding. wich would meen that i must have had live sperm in me from a day or so before my period started and it didnt fertalise an egg untill a day or so later when i came on.....it wasnt implatation bleed ether it was a full on 6 day regular period... me and my partner only had unprotected sex twice after the birth of my daughter, once at day 9 of my cycle (i guessed this was when i was ovulating) and once a day or so before i came on my period. so as strange as it sounds anything can happen with ovulation and getting pregnant

in my letter i got to tell me when i would be getting my nt scan it said it can be done between 10-14weeks. plus they normaly do a blood test aswell, wich i think can also be done up to 14weeks. if baby was all in proportion and had a good heart rate like you said im sure all is well. i know it can take sometimes 4days for sperm to reach the egg and i think it can even live longer inside your vagina! so even if you did have sex on a certain day the egg might not have even been fertalised untill a few days down the line when you were doing your weekly food shop hahaha.

Would be difficult to be out by more than a few days. My last LMP 04.10.2009, we did it day 15 & positive pregnancy test two weeks later. Almost impossible. We were trying so I recorded the dates.

I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but you really don't think there's any possibility that your dates are off? I'm just asking this because going by my cycle and everything, I was supposed to be 9 weeks pregnant, but when I went for my first ultrasound the tech wasn't able to see anything on the outside of the belly either, and it turned out that I was only 6 weeks along (she was able to do all the measurements by an internal ultrasound).
In other words, I wouldn't stress out about it too much yet. I spent most of my first pregnancy worrying about all the things that could be wrong with my baby instead of trying to enjoy it.

That is right 11-13 weeks. I will be 14.3 weeks when I go back for the 2nd scan. So two things here concern me, I believe she is wrong about the dates, so this should mean that I will be too late to have this scan done properly.
My other concern is my baby is very small. I'm not sure, possibly too small. What does this mean for my baby? Has anyone had a very small baby that was perfectly fine?? Or even had one that wasn't fine & what were the issues?? It could be me that's the problem, it could be the Placenta, it could be that the baby has a disability or it could be that our baby is just plain small. I'm so hungry for some real information from people who have experienced something similar.

I had mine at 13 weeks and was fine but every woman/pregnancy/baby is different. I would suggest maybe getting the scan at a different place, especially if they were rude or made you uncomfortable. The big thing is to make sure not only is the scan being done properly, but to do it somewhere that doesn't cause you stress. This is my first pregnancy so I can't give a whole lot of advice. But I do wish you luck with both this and your whole pregnancy!
