I am 31 weeks pregnant with bad cramps like i am going to start my period but nothing is happening.

I have been in and out of hospital since may with this pregnancy due to pre term labor. I just got out last week after being there for 2 weeks straight.

I am contracting every 10-15min or so sometimes closer. I am dilated to a 3 and 90% effaced.

What can i do to help the cramps? What does the cramping mean. Are they contractions too?

I am on procardia, mag oxide, and terb. They just hurt really bad tonight and i dont know what to do to ease the pain!

I went to L&D, they sent me home after 1 round of terb. Dr called the hospital and didnt want anyone to touch me at all. So the on call Dr sent me home without evaluating me. Next day my FFN test came back Positive AGAIN! So back to the hospital i go! Gives me 3 rounds of terb and sends me back home. Terb seemed to do the trick on stopping the cramps, I actually felt better the next day compared to what I felt before. Then the next day which was Friday, Contractions started to pick up a bit again. Never a dull moment!!! I always get contractions no matter what I do, I have IC apparently and a very irritated uterus.

My first question is what has your doctor told you if you have already had preterm labor and are on medications to stop it? With you being that far dilated and effaced with contractions that close it sounds like you are in labor and the cramps are associated with the contractions. If you are feeling pressure in your pelvic region or feel like you are constipated and can't poop it may be that your baby has moved down to that region. I would recommend a hot bath for the cramps, but at the same time with you being dialated and effaced that may not be safe for your baby. I would call your health care provider and see what they say. I know they will want to stop your labor as long as possible but they may not have a choice but to bring you in and welcome your child into the world. I wish you the best of luck and truly hope things go well for you and your child.
