Bc every time it came to that time of the month i didn't get cramps the only symptom i got was boobs in pain. But also they have said it can feel like gas to? Well this last month ive been very gasy so idk what im supose to look for?

my first contractions with my son made me feel as though i was really constipated and couldnt go. but then they came round to the front and i just couldnt get comfortable. you'll know when it happens. im waiting for number 2 to arrive soon so am waiting for similar pains again. good luck with everything

I didn't realize that I was in labour at first because my contractions were 20 minutes apart, and even though they were regular, they weren't painful. It was just a tightening going from my back, through the top of my stomach to the bottom....when they got a little closer together I started to realize that they were happening in a regular time interval. My labour was 33 hours from start to finish, and it was quite a long long time before I found them painful.....
Even though they weren't intense, don't worry, you'll know!

I thought the same way! this is my first child and i was scared i wouldn't know what to expect like i wouldn't know what it was but i have been having braxton hicks contractions and to me it just feels like some one is scrunching up your insides into a ball thats the only way i can explain it myself but believe me you will know. I am due in a little over three weeks and am still reallly nervous but believe me when every one says you will know. Trust them you will know. hope i helped good luck!

About 15 minutes after my water broke, it felt like I was literally fixing to start my period. Started out just little annoying period cramps & gradually got worse & worse! Eventually feels like you're belly's being squeezed & will take you to your knees! LOL!! Epidural makes it all better! I'm due w/ #2 in 10 days. It's amazing how soon we forget just how bad the pain was & decide to do it again so we can have another beautiful baby! LOL!!

My first pains felt like i had a tummy bug and needed the toilet, these were regular and every 13 mins for over a day, they hurt but it wasnt that bad. i went to the hospital to find out what was going on and was told i was only a couple of cms dialated so it wasnt true labor. i went home and they stopped for a couple of hours then started again once an hour then twice then every 15 mins getting stronger and stronger by the time they were 7 mins apart i was throwing up from the pain. i was told to stay home till they were 4 mins apart but couldnt handle it any longer esp after 40 hours of no sleep and the past 12 hours of intense pain. At the hosp they checked me out and said i had only dialated another half a cm so still wasnt in true labor (i was devastated). Everyone is diff but there is no way i could mistake that pain for anything else but a contraction it was like a pain i had never experienced before and i cant compare it to any pain ive ever had except to say that it HURTS. I think it feels different for all women but unless youre one of the lucky few who breeze through it you'll know when the time comes and if you have a pain which is distinct enough that you can time it do so and if it comes in regular intervals you'll know youre well on your way. Goodluck!

No one can tell you what contractions feel like because there is no way you can imagine them until they come but trust me you will know! All the best! Although labour hurts like hell it is the most amazing experience at the same time. bringing a baby into the world is life's greatest miracle! :)

From what I have been told. Real contractions (not false labor) starts in your back and works its way around to your front and then back to the back again. That is how they told me I would know I was in real labor and not false labor. They also said that real contractions happen at the same intervals (like every 10 min) whereas false labor the contractions will be all over the place (like 5 min, 12 min, 8 min, 20 min)

i had back labour with my son, so i wouldnt be able to tell you about regular labour. but back labour you knew for a fact when you had contractions, my whole body started shaking and i couldnt sleep couldnt stand couldnt nothing. it was like someone simotaniously punching me in the stomach and back.

You will definatley no when you are having contractions as they hurt like hell. i went straight into it no rest from the word go i was having such strong contractions with only like 30seconds break inbetween. contractions can be different mine all stayed in my back and someone had to constantly rub my back the whole way through. but dont worry what got me through was thinking its just one or 2 days worth of pain n then i have my gorgeous baby so good luck xxx

I just talked to the doctor about this at my last appointment and she told me that the real contractions you should be able to feel from you back all the way around to the front. I've been feeling the Braxton Hicks contractions and they feel like everything in my stomach is tightening, kinda like when you get ready to throw up. I've also been told that your stomach gets really tight and hard feeling, a friend told me hers felt hard like a basketball.

I'm like you, I've never felt cramps before so I am not really sure what to expect either. I'm just going off what everyone else has told me!!!

The contractions should most likely move from your back to the front of your belly. And it is painful!

id say my contractions felt like that bad pain you get in your tummy when you need to go toilet because you ate something bad....sorry it was the only thing i could compare it with. but it didnt just hurt right away. they start off weak then build up to a bad pain then faid off in waves. the further into labour i got the stronger they got,the 1st few hours of contractions were ok just made me pull faces lol
