when to start putting baby stuff out

thanks everyone... i am now 18 weeks and i still haven't put stuff out yet...i am going to wait for a little while longer...i was mainly asking to see when i should start setting stuff out due to the fact that this baby will be sharing a room with my daughter and i was not sure when i should start introducing baby stuff into her room.

I think that 16wks is a bit early... Not to be negative, but you're still not quite "in the clear" if you know what I mean. Depending on where your from, you probably haven't even found out the sex yet... With my 1st, my care provider didn't do sonograms til the 23rd week. This time around, I was 21 wks when I found out the sex but even with only 8wks to go I still haven't gotten started but plan to in the next two weeks... Mainly I've waited because my 1st shower wasn' t till recently and because with me having a daughter and this one being a boy-he's going to be in a room with me for the first couple months. O hope that I haven't been offensive.

Whenever you feel like it. My advice do a little at a time that way you will have continual projects available when you feel that need to do something. I started at about 2 months along because that is when I was given the crib. Now the room is done and I still have 4-6 more weeks of preganacy to go. (Looking at the room is fun though)

We'll be starting pretty early, about 6 months before our next is due we'll have a crib set up in the room (Our first child will be moving out of the toddler bed conversion to a full size bed). We have all the clothing ready to go in plastic bins and will just need to take out what we need. Once we find out the gender we'll probably do more.

With my first, I did it so early(talk about being excited!).I wasn't even half way yet. With this one, I am almost 28 weeks and haven't done anything yet. I have been nesting for the past 3 weeks, so it's driving me absolutely crazy not having everything out and ready!!!

I think the thing to consider is preparing your daughter & having the time & energy to do it yourself. So I would do it a couple months before due so that your daughter can get use to it before bub comes. But I wouldn't leave it too late either because your energy & strength will be low. Then if you did it too early it is something else you will need to keep clean until the bub comes.
For me all I will need to do is set up a bassinet which I will do about 7 weeks before due date (my labour started 7 weeks early last time). My daughter is 17 months so not much else needs to change.

All along, I've been getting ready as I have the energy to do so, and when I have had the help I've needed, as well. Since my hubby works offshore and is gone for weeks at a time, I knew I needed to start "early", but I still waited until I was 24w (around Xmas). At that point, I started getting help to clean out the bedroom we've converted into our nursery. I utilized others who all conveniently had time off to move stuff out of that room...all the heavy stuff I couldn't do on my own. In January, I spent some time doing a good cleaning of the carpet and walls, and also painting. Later that month, on one of my Mom's visits, I found/bought a crib and the bedding I wanted and set that all up. During February, I had my two baby showers and then organized from them. Now it's March...the changing table's been purchased and assembled, along with my glider/ottoman (during another of Mom's visits). I'm allowing my cat to get used to all of the new stuff that's come home so that she's comfortable (she's been my only "baby" for over 2 years now).

I honestly think 16w is too early to start getting ready. Instead of bringing out the "stuff" maybe now would be the time to start preparing your other child in other ways... Showing her how to care for a baby using a doll, etc. Explaining that she'll be sharing her room. Maybe even let your daughter have some input, depending on how old she is.

In my opinion, i wouldn't put it up this early!! Let your daughter enjoy her own room for just a little while longer. lol.. I am due in less than 3 weeks, and i put everything out for my baby about a month ago.... It was hard, it had reality hit me fast, but i got to enjoy the non stress a little longer. =] I hope i was help... just slowly start bringing things out so ur little one can get used to seeing new things. =] but not too much at once! =]

I am due at the end of June but we are putting stuff up at the end of this month. We are doing this early because my husband has school during the day & work in the evenings. So we are going to do most of the setup during his spring break.

With our first we started setting up his nursery a few months before hand. We are now due early May with our second and have not done much yet. I have started making a list of things that will need doing - but no huge rush. Moving our sons car seat to the other side of the backseat at the end of the month so he has time to get used of sitting on the opposite side. Planning to get baby things set up early-mid April (due May2) because our son was a couple of weeks early so we will have things ready appx 2 weeks before the due date for sure. Although we have left a few new baby things around the house and let our son know they are for his baby sibling who will be arriving soon.

My first and second I seemed to have everything out so early. Due in May with my third and I have started getting things ready but not really rushing things. I would like to have all ready by the middle of April so the last couple of weeks I don't have to stress about it. I did put the crib up so that my other 2 could have something to relate to the new baby.

with my first one i was setting stuff up early. This time i haven't done anything!! I only have maybe a handful of outfits for him and i am due in June. I think you should do it when ever you feel like it!!
