Do not go on what the WIC dietitian says speak directly to your OB or Specialist for more dependable information. As far as worrying about loosing weight, it is a concern that is for sure! But just because you feel ill does not mean you cannot eat. try eating crackers and cheese or peanut butter on a regular basis, plain eggs, hummus, and other plain foods high in protein. This will help give you and your child nutrition that is needed. Also to help with the nausea, try ginger root. I was also sick all the time...no vomiting just sick to my stomach...but it went away and I hope yours does to. Good luck with everything!

as long as your doctor does not see a problem then do not worry!!!! the WIC people have told me all kinds of crazy things about my pregnancys and my children...don't listen to them...listen to your doctor!

I've lost some weight because of how sick I was (and still am :/) but I was overweight when I got pregnant. My OB didn't like the fact that I wouldn't eat because I didn't want to get sick, she told me "eat even if you're going to get sick because the baby will still take what it needs...." I was already labeled high risk though because I've had two previous miscarriages. Luckily though thats the only reason I'm high risk, everything else is going perfect. So just hang in there!

i am currently 28 wks and i have finally gained 3 pounds after loosing a total of 30 pounds when i first found out. i have WIC too and they just argued with me about loosing weight all you gotta do is let it go in one ear and out the other and just nod your head with everything. they may think everyone gains weight cuz thats what they know. but as long as ur ob says u and baby are healthy..dont sweat it...lots of luck

I lost 20 pounds in my first trimester finally gained 9 pounds then lost again. They did the same to me and my ob said unless he says something to not freak out. As long as the baby is healthy its not a big deal.

hi :) i am pregnant with my second now. with my first i lost 15 lbs at the beginning due to throwing up and lack of wanting to eat. this time around (i'm 11wks) i've lost four pounds so far...when the nausea goes away you will gain it all back. i wouldn't be worried. i was fine in the past but if you feel like you should talk more to your dr about it then i would.

don't freak yourself out. it does no good and causes too much stress for you and the baby. good luck and try not to worry too much.

I didn't really lose any weight, but I didn't gain but maybe a pound during my first trimester. I guess it was morning sickness coupled with the fact that I didn't feel like eating, and I was underweight to begin with.

I started drinking those Ensure Gain Or Maintain A Healthy Weight drinks, once every day, it seemed to help a lot.

I lost 10lbs in the first trimester and gained it back midway through the second, I wouldn't worry too much. Just make sure you eat small meals frequently throughout the day, you need slightly more food than you did before the pregnancy, about 300 calories a day more.

Just remember that WIC is NOT your OB. Trust your OB and if you have to be on WIC, just brave the anaemia tests with a great big fake smile. At least the food is free.

No need to worry just yet. The WIC dietitian also labeled me high risk because I had lost almost 20 lbs. and I only weighted about 120-130 lb before my pregancy but i totally understand you freaking out becuase the WIC dietitain really freaked me out when she told me that becuse this is my first pregnacy and i didn't have any morning sickness or anything so she acted like it was really abnormal but I'm 25 weeks now and things are going great and i've started to gain weight now. But my docotor had told me its completly normal and as long as the baby is healthy its okay

I lost 13 pounds during my first trimester during my last pregnancy. Don't freak out. You are considered high risk but you should soon be able to gain weight. If you don't, your doctor will probably admit you to give you fluids and food. That is worst case if you can't eat. Drink as many fluids, water, lots of juices etc. You'll be ok. Just do what you can. It will get better.
