The old blood thing? normal! You may continue to get the browning for a few months around the time when your period was due before you got pregnant. Happened to me for the first three months.
As for abnormal cells - that's all they are is abnormal, not even pre-cancerous.... sometimes you can get an abnormal result if you've had sex the morning of the smear because of the...extras! Been there and cervical cancer (worst case) is so slow going that you'll have no probs if you wait for any treatment til well after bub is born. My doc simply re-tests the abnormal results with another smear after 6mths, after that its yearly. Nothing to worry about at all - remember stress is no good!

Both happened to me with My first, Had a biopsy done and everything came back just fine.

I am sorry to say that i have loss the baby due to blighted ovum...i go next wends to get the cells checked, they said that they were not connected to lossing the baby.

I had an abnormal pap with m first pregnancy and I just had to go in for more pap's throughout my pregnancy. Everything was fine, but I too was freaking out... I would imagine everythings probably ok, but just make sure you keep going to your appointments regularly and don't stress. :)

As long as its not cancer ur fine! :) The cells will wash away during labor! Strange things happen during pregnancy... I bled servery through my second pregnancy and after having no stop hospital trips and tests apparently there was nothing wrong and it was unexplainable... I found that hard to believe but my second child is now 1 and we are both fine.

I have had an abnormal smear,but at the time I was'nt preg.but everthing was o.k.!! They did have to go in and do a simple test to make sure the cells were not cancer.,& I have also had the spotting brownish discharge & alittle worst in this last pregnancy. It got to a reddish color of spotting&then I got worried!!But,when I went it to see the doctor they said the brown color was old blood & not to worry.But,then when it turned into the reddish coloring they were concerned alittle they just did an ultrasound to check the baby& anything else on the inside & then also did a routine check on the outside!! thankfully everthing was fine,but they did tell me to stay off my feet and no sex untill my next Appt.,that was just incase!!there were alot of thing that could make that happen,but the most common things were sex,straing to hard when use the bathroom,there is a number of things.the best thing to do if it were me is to call them &let them know,but if it's just brownish coloring I would wait untill my next Appt. & then let them know that this is a concern to you &see what they can do to help. I've never had an abnormal smear but I have had the brown discharge. My midwife told me the same thing about old blood. It usually happens when you have sex and your partner touches your cervix. So it is normal :D I hope everything turns out okay! I'm 6 weeks 5 days along and I'm still waiting to have my first appt...
