4yr old Snoring MAN!!

I am having the most trying time with my babe Gavin at night. He's been snoring like a full grown man!! I am exhausted! And so is he! He snores so loud that he usually wakes himself up during the night! Could it be Sleep Apnea?.. He's not obese. I know he's extremely tired tho..:( The little guy hasnt been getting much rest.

Anyone experience this type of behavior before??

We went to see our GP and told him our concerns about his snoring. He then gave me a referal to an ENT specialist who then sent us for an xray so he could have a look at his tonsils and nasal passages. We then had a follow up appointment with the same ENT specialist who gave us an admissions form to the hospital to have his adenoids removed as they are totally blocking his nasal passages. We haven't had to have a sleep study.

The ENT specialist is confident that the removal of his adenoids should fix the problem.

He also said that enlarged tonsils can cause severe snoring as well.

I would see your GP first with your concerns and then take it from there. They should be able to advise you of the next step you need to take

Thank you Amanda! So what kind of "Specialist"? Was it an ENT doctor..or did you guys have him get a sleep study first?.. I'm just stumped about how to proceed. Dont want to waste a lot of time. So tell me do i take him to get a sleep study first then the ENT?.. Help!!

My son snores like an old man, he disturbs himself and us during the night and is extremely restless.
I took him to the doctors about it and they told me it is a form of sleep apenea and was referred to a specialist.

We were sent for xrays and found out that it the reason for the snoring was because of enlarged adenoids that are blocking his nasal passages. He is having them taken out in 2 weeks.
