Off of experience I would go with the Wii. It allows everyone to actively participate and encourages exercise. I use it as a reward system for my son, who is 5, and we have a great time, and it keeps him from being lazy and wanting to sit around, it even gives me a workout, lol.

In my opinion the Nintendo Wii has more interactive games for family like bowling, baseball, basket ball, etc. They have many games that allow for multiple players.

In my family a single person plays the xbox, but the entire family plays with the wii. Even if it isn't our turn we sit a watch as someone else plays.

The wii is better for promoting physical activity while still having fun. Dont get me wrong, we love the xbox features also. But I have a 3 yr old who absolutely loves playing wii

i would go with the Wii it is the best family orientated system out there. we have the Wii and family game night is something the kids and my husband look forward too. the Wii has more family games for its system than any other system .

The Nintendo Wii will get the most use. Yes it a bit costley to get started. The add on and such but its soooo much worth it. There is more family games for it than the xbox.

Pluse with the Xbox you DO NEED to have a fan on it cause they burn out faster. I don't know I never like the xbox. My kids 8 and 10 just loves the Wii and the xbox collects dust.

Are these your only choices? Reason I ask it because the WII has more to do as a family. I love being able to actually get up and move to play the game. There are so many options and games for liltte kids to great excersices for moms. But if this is not a choice you can include then I would go for the XBOX, as you said there is other options in this game also

I see a lot of people saying it depends on the age of your child but my opinion is it really depends on what they like to play. my son just turned 5 and hes been playing the xbox since he was 4 and he loves it.he stated on the ds when he was 2 so i think that has a lot to do with him making that well of a transition but depending on the games some are easier then others.

I would have to say that Nitendo is more for children and has more games that are appropriately rated for children. It is also more durable and can withstand the torcher, wear and tear that children put on their personal belongings....The X-box is a great console, however, it has more games that are for teenagers or adults......Really it boils down to what kind of games you allow your children to play and the ages of your children......They are both great consoles.....Hope this helps...

I say the wii because it incorporates movement in it.. your standing and moving around versus sitting down and just moving your fingers.. there are alot of games you can play like bowling and you can ACTUALLY play them we have the wii and I have a 2 year old and she loves to watch and try to play with us! its good for all ages..

My son says to go with the xbox but I would love to give you my take. DON'T DO IT! Gaming systems end up taking over things like board games and the kids playing together. I regret having brought the Wii into the house as well as the DS. They have replaced most of the interactive stuff they used to do...unless I nag them to turn off all of the electronics. I miss the simple days of books, puzzles, etc. Just a thought.

Nintendo wii as I've got both and the most favorite in my house is Nintendo wii its soo much fun and they are active play so they get tired gud news for all the mums as they go to sleep early. LOL hahaha :)

I think a lot depends on the ages of your kids. I think younger ones like Nintendo more. When they are almost teens and older they seem to like XBox. Our son is 26 and loves all systems but says that the Nintendo is still the best. Loves the graphics more. Our daughter is 13 and likes the WII and Nintendo best. Myself and husband tend to like the Nintendo best when we play with her. I think it is just pretty much up to the kids. If they have friends with some of your options, see which they like playing the best than go from there. Good luck.

We have both.I think it really depends on the ages of your children.We use the XBOX for games and we can connect to Netflix as well.The facebook feature isnt that great.My kids like the Wii because of the physical activities like sports etc...And then there is Wii fit. I like both but I would say younger children would enjoy Wii and older children would enjoy XBOX...hope that helps

my family loves the nintendo wii they are nuts about it. i like some of the games too but not like they do they make me laugh watching them play. the x box was too grown up for my preteen. so we went with the wii.

my family enjoys the x-box. i have 2 teen agers and a 6 year old. they all play together, especially rock band and guitar hero. they even have a family game night game with all kinds of games. i think the x-box would be the way to go.
