Hi Tiffany, thanks for sharing about your hometown. What a historic place. I grew up looking at little house on the prairie. How long have you lived there?

I live in Tucson, AZ. Old Tucson studios is locally located and a fun place to experience that old western town feel. Many John Wayne and Clint Eastwood westerns were filmed here, and episodes of Bonanza and Little House on the prairie were also filmed here. We have a place called the Sonora Desert Museum where you can go see native desert animals, birds, reptiles and plants. Our favorite summer spot to visit in our town is Mt Lemmon. As you can imagine living in the desert is hot, hot, hot in the summer. Mt Lemmon which reaches 9,000 ft in elevation, is a great escape for us. There are many look out points on the hour drive up the mountain, there's a lake where you can do some fishing, several campgrounds, picnic spots, a charming little town on top of the mountain with shops. And at the end of the day when you're driving back down, you get to take in one of our breathtakingly gorgeous desert sunsets!

Fruitland, Idaho mom here: A great place to take the kids on a summer Friday or Saturday night around here is the Parma MotorVu Drive-in Movie. Kids 11 and under are free. Mine are getting older now, and their prices have doubled in the last two years to $7 for adults. It costs me a bit more to go now, but you can take all of your own drinks and snacks which is a huge saver when you are taking lots of kids. Before the movie starts the kids run around and play football and have foot races with the other kids that come. Great, cheap weekend entertainment idea.
