Where to take the family in OH/KY/WV?

You should try Mammoth Cave National Park in KY. they have cabins you canstay at, or pitch a tent and camp if you like. The cave is open year round for all sorts of tours, and plenty to do for the kids. There is quite a bit of walking involved in some of the tours. My parents took me & my brother & sister there just about every year. I plan to take my family there someday. My husband has never been & he loves caves & I know my shildren will love it. we are very outdoorsie family.
there are lots of other places in KY to visit. Just let me know if you would like any other suggestions.

My favorites are camping in Mohican (canoeing in a canoe or raft a MUST) and camping on Put-in-Bay on South Bass Island (Sunday-Weds, weekend gets rowdy OR stay at the campground through the weekend and don't go into town). Also Kelleys Island but much more crowded for camping.

We just got back from the perfect vacation spot in Hocking Hills Ohio. We had the PERFECT cabin deep in the woods. The place was awesome!!! We stayed in the Deer Haven Retreat Cabin. http://hockinghillsbackwoodsretreat.com/...
We stayed 4 days & we went horse back riding at Uncle Bucks riding stables which also was awesome. The trail they took us on was fantastic & not just a slow walk on a horse. we went canoeing, miniature golf, go carts, and the falls in the state park & the caves & hiking. The cabin has everything you need, towels, dishes, silverware, hot tub flat screen TV with satellite dish, DVD player with a ton of DVD movies to watch, fire place, air conditioning, outside fire pit, grill paddle boat to ride in the pond which is filled with fish. They even had coffee, & sugar, & pop corn, so many little things too. The place was so clean & beautiful!!! There was even a binder on the table telling us how to use everything & the does & don't s & a journal to write in about your stay. EVERYONE wrote about how they loved the place & would be back. I will recommend it to everyone.

We took our crew to Country Acres Campgrounds in Ohio this past summer. It is a small private campground in the middle of no where but still close to a lot of different attractions and small towns. they have cabins you can rent there, everyone is super nice, and they have a 5acre catch and release pond. Our kids loved it. I also highly recommend checking out Wagon Trails animal park if you go. They take you into the park on these huge open sided buses and you get to hand feed the animals. My kids loved it. There are also amusement parks and a scenic railroad close to the campgrounds.

Canaan Valley if you like to ski...or one of my favs is Pipestem state Park in WV. It has cabins/hotel/pools/horseback riding/boating/tennis (and more!)...and an ariel tram. My family loves it there :)
