Bedtime Toilet Training

My girl had a hard time getting rid of the diapers to. She was dry in the day and we tried to have here without a nappy at night when she had a dry nappy every morning for a week. Then she all the sudden begun peeing in her pants in the playground during the day! I don't know why but it seemed like she was doing it on purpose. Well any way... it took about 4 or 5 weeks and then she stopped doing it. So now we have a dry soon to bee 4 year old! Good since we have an 8 month old to put diapers on now. :) I think you just have to let them get ready. Every child stops using there diapers some time. Some of them need a little more time than others. There aren't many 15 year olds out there wearing nappies anyway. ;)

thanks samantha, i actuall forgot to put a nappy on him once and he woke up at about 3:30am and he was dry. But i think you are right i just need to go for it, but he likes to wear them so that is going to be the hard part.

I would suggest just going for it. You never know until you try and he may really dislike waking up wet and not do it anymore. Just don't give him anything to drink a half hour to an hour before he goes to bed and make him go to the bathroom before he lays down. It will probably take a little while so be patient.

your best bet is to wait until he starts showing a dry diaper in the morning consistently. It does not sound like he has the night time bladder control yet to handle it. It is considered perfectly normal for boys to not be full night time trained, up until age 10. After then is when you should worry if he is not trained and talk to your dr. But no way should you wait until then. I would wait until he has 3-6 days of dry sleep straight (including nights and naps) to try for that.

hi my son is 3 he has been potty trained for about 7 months, as soon as he started going on his potty i took him out of nappies, i did keep them on him for 3 nights but he was dry so didnt put another one on him, and he doesnt even have any accidents, at first i tried not to give hima drink so close to bed or i would tell him to have a wee before he goes to bed and i find that worked really well, he new when he needed his potty even in the night he would wake up if he needed to go on his potty and he is a really good sleeper. good luck
