[deleted account] ( 40 moms have responded )

What theme are you planning for your child's 2nd birthday? I am thinking about Shrek because my DD is OBSESSED with Shrek but I haven't really seen any Shrek party stuff.

were trying to do Little Einsteins as our son's 2nd birthday party theme because our son absolutely loves that show but can't find anywhere that sells it.. he turns 2 on feb 9th but we are having his party early on Valentines Day..(couldn't do it before because of our nephew's birthday) We are having about 12 kids come but have to do it from 12-3ish...because of parents who are doing things later in the evening as well.. :)

We're having a Lazytown themed tea party from 12-3pm (Valentines Day so had to be early for parents/family who may be out in the evening) - No more than 8 children. Got loads of themed bits from www.partypieces.co.uk.

Had a big belated party for him last year (he had measles on his 1st) so just something small at home this year!

Birthdayexpress.com usually has everything. My daughter is obsessed with Handy Manny, Elmo, Pooh, Mickey Mouse and the Imagination Movers... we haven't picked a theme yet and her birthday is in 2 weeks - yikes! I think we are just going to take her to a party store and let her pick.

It's Abby Cadabby & Elmo for us all the way! My Abby is obsessed with Abby Cadabby and Melmo, although here it's very difficult to find any kind of selection in birthday party supplies. The invitations we made ourselves, and I did find an Abby cakepan

Hi, My daughter is 2 on the 9th and I am going with a butterfly, bugs and flowers theme. I'm not really sure why as we are only having family around but i love love love to see their little faces when they wake in the morning and our whole home is decorated (just like christmas but with a birthday twist) Their are some great idea websites like www.bugs-n-blooms.com and also martha stwewart has some cool ideas! Even though my daughter enjoys lots of tv related things I wanted to go with something a little different. I also went to hobby craft and got lots of stuff so I can make decorations etc. Have a nice party :-)

My daughter has been really into Dora and princesses lately so it will probably be one of the two... Dora gets a little old so we might do the princess theme with little tiaras and all. I don't plan on having a big party just yet (maybe next year!) but she does have about 3 little friends we'll probably invite.

I'm going with Elmo. There really wasn't anything else that my daughter is into as much, with the exception of Blue's Clues, but I think I missed the train on that one.

Quoting Angela:

we are doing fairies and bugs - something for the boys and girls!  Lots of green and pink decorations, food such as decorated cup cakes and fairy bread.  I found loads of stuff at the cheap emporiums and i've made party loot bags, the food, and the invites.

have fun at your party!

Angela, I saw some really cute butterfly and bug party supplies at the dollar store.

We will probably do Dora, but I would love to do Little Einstein. I know some sites like Disney and Nick Jr offer templates for different things like invites and activities. We also have time as my little one isn't 2 til the 27th!  Shrek is at the party store and also K-mart (just saw it tonight)

we are doing snowmen.  My son LOVES snowmen.  He calls them "bobb-o's." I don't know why but it makes perfect sense to him.  It was great because all the snowmen stuff at Oriental Trading Co. was on sale after Christmas, but since my son's bday is Feb 7 it is still winter so the bobbo's won't be too out of place.

Still not sure what we are doing - my daughter will be 2 on the 22nd so we have a little time still. She's just not that into tv yet but likes sesame street - so maybe abby cadabby?

We are doing Dora and Diego.  My daughter loves them both.  We got stuff for the party at orientaltrading.com and party city.  They do have Shrek party stuff at oriental trading too.  I bought wooden maracas for the kids to color at oriental trading to go with our theme.  And also bought a classroom quilt from them too for the kids to decorate for my daughter to keep.  We will be having her party at our church family center and renting a moon bounce for the gym.  Should be lots of fun!!
