i'm wondering what the signs are when a toddler is ready to go to the potty. My boy is 21 months and he sometimes will get a diaper and wipes even when he doesn't need a diaper change.

Oh yeah, that's a good sign that he's ready to be introduced to the potty. I would definitely have one ready, and give it a try. It may still be a long process though. My two sons took over a year to potty train, but neither showed any interest or signs that they were ready before I started training them. I figured by the time they were two I should start potty-training. With my daughter who is almost two, I'm waiting for positive signs for her first and hoping her training won't take as long. Good luck!

My daughter is going every time we put her on the toilet and she's telling me about 50% of the time. I have a home daycare and all of the older girls do it and she ialways interested when they go, so we just line her up with th big kids and she is so proud to be "big enough" like the 3 year olds. I couldn't believe it the first week she stayed dry every day even poop on the toilet! But now we are on the 3rd week and she doesn't seem as interested in stopping playing to go potty. But I have her go everytime I have the big kids go...
After Breakfast, Before Lunch, After lunch, Before Nap and After nap etc...

My baby has been telling me "poop!" whenever he's dirty, often even before he's dirty. He's getting a potty very soon, just to practice... With my older boy, it took a while because we started early, so I plan to start slowly. But if he wants to go potty, I'm not going to stop him.

My little boy is doing the same thing...the only way i knew that he was gettin intrested in it was at my sisters there was a little potty that he wanted to sit on and everything. So i'm going to go get him a potty and just let him get use to it. I think its a little hard to tell when they are ready...i would almost suggest gettin your little boy a little potty and see how he does..
