Hi everyone,

Welcome to the February 2007 Babies community, where we chat about our February 2007 children and whatever else is on our minds!

To get things started, I thought it would be nice if we all introduced ourselves in this thread, which will be pinned to the community home page. Whether you're a Circle of Moms veteran or you're new to the site, let us know who you are, what you’re interested in, and what your lovely February 2007 child is up to right now, developmentally speaking!

Hi there moms! I am a writer, blogger and am trying to see where this who online gig will take me. I work at home so I am blessed that I get to be with my son daily. He is 5 and is my favorite person on earth. While I do miss his toddler years, I enjoy his company more now because we can talk about all sorts of things. I can also teach him a lot about how the world works and academics. I now understand why they say parenting is fulfilling.

I've been blogging since September 2010 but only started with my blog last year. My goal is to help parents raise their children well by offering parenting information to help them make better decisions.

Oh and about me lol

Employed at a baby supply store, I'm prepping to go on maternity leave soon as I'm expecting Aislinns sister on August 15. Wee one will also be born via c-section as my pelvis is not build for natural birthing. I'm thrilled to be expanding my family!!!

I love to sing and never turn down an invite to karaoke, am quite crafty with home made cards and scrapbooking and have a huge interest in criminology and forensics.

Im learning to love life again and with the help of some self discovery and group support I'm moving past the affects of some severely negative relationships and experiences.

My life motto ~ do your best and survive.

Hi moms! My name is Brandy. My dream baby girl, Aislinn, was born on February 14, 2007, after 56hrs of labour and her being a 'failure to progress'. My pregnancy was perfect, my labour was traumatic. In the end however, she was born with a smile on her face curiously looking around, almost as though she were thinking, "hmmm yes...so this is what momma was so excited about!". LOL

Her name is Gaelic and means "the vision, the dream".
Its a perfect name as she came to me in my dreams just as she was born. I'd been dreaming of her since I was a young woman, so I call her my dream baby.

A junior in Kindergarten, she loves to learn. She comes home from JK and practices her letters and numbers. She is always saying, "mommy I want to learn more!". She has expressed she wants to be an artist when she grows up. She loves to paint and draw her little "peoples" and that girls got rhythm! She sings and dances when the mood strikes and she's quite good it!!

Blue is her favorite colour, she loves her Barbies and riding her scooter and she can be found most days playing mommy to her dollies, tucking them in and rubbing their backs.

My daughter is my dream come true, a beautiful, caring, loving, considerate and empathetic child whom I have complete confidence in.

She's my dream come true :)

Hi my name is Victoria (Tori) and my son is named Lucas. I'm interested in knowing where other children my sons age are developmentally. Right now for Lucas it's potty training. He just has no interest. Does anyone else have this problem? I'm also interested in making new friends with moms who have kids my sons age.

Hello, my name is Trisha. I have been married for 11 years this May; and, we have one beautiful daughter named Kayley. Her birthday is February 16, 2007. I actually got my labor induced on February 14 so I thought she'd be a Valentines baby! We are getting ready to host a birthday party soon. She is very excited to be turning 5. She is in preschool this year and will be starting Kindergarten soon. My daughter loves ballet and tap dancing. She is REALLY shy though. I don't push her though because I want her to feel comfortable. She has made 3 friends this year at her preschool. I can't believe my baby is going to Kindergarten soon! My daughter is very smart and has been writing since she was 3 and knows how to do math problems as I have always worked with her. When she was 1 she was doing real puzzles! I am very happy to have found this community and am so excited.

Hi, I'm Donna and my husband and I have a lovely daughter name Olivia. She was born Feb 1, 2007. I'm new to this site, so my daughter is about to turn 5 (I'm seeing this was started in 2009!). Olivia is in the middle of Preschool and will start Kindergarten in the Fall of 2012. She is very bright and loves to dance and sing. However, only in front of family and people she is comfortable with. She is an only child and is very comfortable with older people. I attribute that to the fact that she's around a lot of older people, be it at daycare, with her grandparents, cousins, etc. She can be extremely shy in new situations, especially around people her own age. That's the one worry I have when she starts Kindergarten (her ability to make friends easily). Other than that, she is very bright and knows her ABC's, can count, is growing like a weed and is the absolute joy of our lives!

Hello! My name is Nakira and I have been married to my DH for almost 10 years (May 2002). We adopted our DD Kayden on April 16, 2007 and she was born on February 4, 2007. She has been in a K4 program at a private school since August 2011. The K4 program teaches a kindergarten curriculum so she is already reading...they have started with Hop on Pop but she can read and sound out most words now. She can spell most colors and shapes and numbers up to ten right now. She can also count to 100 by single digits and by 5's and 10's. I am amazed at all she has learned and I am fearful about how she will do in kindy next year if we decide to put her in public school!

DD is funny, bright, loves to dance and loves anything social (involving other children). She is fully potty trained but not night trained at this time, but she SOOOO wants to be dry in the mornings :( We are working on it!

Natalie, I hope you see this! My overactive little one is three (my 4 year old is incredibly calm) and I encourage you not to give up if you think something is not quite right. Everyone told me that Dylan was just hyper, easily excited, that it was nothing to be concerned with. I felt guilty thinking there was something wrong with him, for being frustrated with what everyone told me was just his "fun personality." As he got older, I got less able to handle him. I finally took him to his doctor and said "Look, I'm not crazy, and I'm not overreacting. My son is hyper far beyond what is "normal" for his age, and we need to figure out why." It took us almost a year, but he finally has been diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder and ADD. He's only three, so his ADD diagnosis isn't "official," but it gives us a great starting place so we can help him learn to manage his disability before the bad habits become life-long problems. I have ADD which went untreated until I was 21 years old. I desperately want to be able to prevent him from developing the same self-esteem issues, disorganization habits, and focusing issues I still struggle with on a daily basis. Even if you can't get an official diagnosis, start doing some research on ADD and check out some of the simple home therapies and methods you can try to help him learn focus. For my son, dietary changes made a small difference, and changing the way we gave instructions was very helpful. As he is so young, it's difficult to know exactly what is symptomatic of his condition and what is just normal preschooler behavior, but I continue to do research and become informed so that I can help him to the utmost of my abilities once he gets to the point where we are able to differentiate symptoms from personality traits. I don't want a different child, just a more functional one!

Now we have a new little girl on the way! She is due Thanksgiving day. We will have our hands full since we have recently had Evelyn evaluated and diagnosed with Pervasive Development Disorder. It has been an up hill battle but, there is nothing I won't do to make sure my angel gets every bit of help she needs. We are very excited to start OT soon and ready to help her grow to her full potential.

Hello! New to the group (and site). I am interested in knowing what other children my sons age are doing, how they are acting....because I'm afraid he might be ADD or ADHD. You know, I hate to place a label on him...some of you might even think me a bad mother for even thinking something like that about my own son, but until you've experienced my child, I'd wait to pass judgement. I've been observing other children's behavior at church or soccer, and they are just more focused, still, quiet - and calm. What an introduction, huh? Don't get me wrong, Logan is a smart, capable, loving little boy - but I have a hard time focusing him on anything! Any other mother's out there with an extremely "rowdy" little boy who has trouble focusing?

Hi! I'm Sarah, and my oldest, Payten, turned four February 10th. He's such a blend of his father's and my personalities. He loves the outdoors, being physical, and reading as I do (the kid taught himself how to read before he turned 3!) but also really likes video games, sitting down and playing board games, and Iron Man! He has an exceptionally large vocabulary, but has fairly poor pronunciation skills. We really have to work with him on slowing down and taking the time to speak clearly. He can when he thinks about it, but he's always in such a rush! He loves to tell stories, do puzzles, and torment his 2 1/2 year old brother and ''teach'' his one year old sister. He DOESN'T like kisses, but will allow one for his Mama now and then. :)

He speaks well for his age, knows his numbers 1-12, colors and shapes. He is tall for his age. Working on the potty training. I take him every hour and he never has a problem going and will do good all day but if he is playing with other kids he will forget and then have an accident. I keep him in pull-ups and he does really well. My next step, to put him in underwear during the day and see how he does. He rarely goes at night even in his pull-up. I make him go just before he goes to bed and as soon as he wakes up. He keeps me active since he is non-stop but I love every minute of it. I am looking forward to chatting with others with kids the same age.
