Separation Anxiety or. . . ?

My three year old daughter use to love to be dropped off with family while my husband and I have to work. Now she is crying and says she doesn't feel good and wants to stay home. This lasts all day long so it is not just a first reaction and she is fine when we leave. Is this normal for kids to go through this?

My 3 yr old started this a few months before she turned 3. At first I thought it might have been because of the fact I got really bad sick and she had to stay with my Mama for like 10 days. I'm a single Mama and like Terri I've been a full time Mama as well. I wonder too if it's the whole separation thing or because she felt like I abandoned her last Nov. She is just now at almost 3 1/2 starting to stay a night or two with my Mama again. She will be starting Head Start this August so praying that all goes well.

Hi! My daughter is experiencing seperation anxiety too. She gets really upset if I do anything without her...although quite randomly she's OK occasionally. She wants to come get the washing off the line, to the loo, sits in the bathroom while I shower some days. I'm a full time Mummy so she's always been with me, although we do lots of groups, but we had a new baby at the end of last year and I think she's feeling insecure maybe? It's strange because even my Husband won't do...it must be me she has! She'll be starting nursery in Sept, so I'm not looking forward to that...
