Hi

My daughter is 2 and doesn't really talk alot...mostly one word at a time and on occasion she will put two words together. Should I be concerned? I feel like I should be concerned, but my friends and family say that she is young and it will come. Just wondering what is "normal"?

my daughter is also 2 and some words i can understand but most is forgein to me too, i was told if not talking by 3 to get her assessed however i have since been told by proper authorities not to worry that she will in her own time. jst continue to talk to her as normal, ask her things that need a long answer.  my son is 1 and he has more words than her but then he has attended daycare and my daughter hasnt. every child develops differently, just give your child time and alot of love..she will talk when she is ready

My daiughter does not use a binkie, she threw it away herself when she was 7 months old.  She sounds like she wants to make sentences, but they sound like a foreign language to me.  I know it's coming I am just worried that she won't ever make sentences and when she does I will probably want her to stop talking...ha ha ha

Does she use a binkie?  I had a friend that her doctor said to toss it and see if that helped her son.  So she did just as he turned 2...he started talking more within 6 mo.  If that doesnt work I would just keep an eye on it...each child is different.
