My son has started the tantrums recently. His are usually when he is tired. Sometimes though his are so random we have no idea what set him off and he doesn't either. When he is starting to get upset he is sent to time-out where he is told to sit until he has calmed down and then we try and talk about what has caused the meltdown. He is allowed to get up from time out when he is ready but he already knows that if it starts again he'll go back. So he actually sits there and calms down.

When my little girl throws a fit/has a tantrum, she has to go sit in the designated time-out spot until she is done. And it's funny sometimes, I'll go ask her if she is done crying and/or if she wants to come out of time out she'll say NO! And just sits there for a while longer haha

You know that is around the time she starts with the tantrums. My mom watches her during the day while I work and she says she started doing it to her now too. She eats all day though when she is there and she is constantly running around. I don't know what to think anymore, but thanks for the advise! I will definetly add you as a friend. Thanks again for all the great advise!

yes you have a few years between tantrums and PMS. The pic is of my 2 yr old and one month old. My 2 yr old is getting better at holding poses now. She learned that it takes longer when you dont sit still lol. Yes I am dealing with tantrums as well. When the whining starts I ask her is she is whining and she will stop it quick. She acts up when she is hungry, thirsty or tired so I try to stay on top of that also. That may be something you might want to keep track of. Are her outbursts around meal time? Maybe giving her a small healthy snack just before that may also help with the tantrums. Good luck. Add me if you would like.

Thank you! I've tried the ignoring, but she just seems to scream even more and louder until we give in. Sometimes she starts to turn blue and I can't stand for her to hurt. I want to try the time out with her. I know it does womders with my boys, but she is a tough cookie! Even my older boys are scared of her because now she started throwing things at them! I wonder if this is what they meant about terrible two's? My sons never acted this way! Help!! I will try the time out and I'll keep you posted. Thanks again for the advise! =)

Ignore her. No good attention or bad. Step over her. Explain that you can not hear her when she is acting that way.

My daughter is the same way and we have started doing time out for 2 minutes. It is hard for her to stay in time out but once she understands that she is in trouble then she won't throw an fit for a while knowing that if she does she will go to time out again.
