Forgot to add that it is nice for older kids to decorate their own gift bags - you fill them while they are having cake.

My son turns one of the 18th and we are having his party on the 21 which is hockey day. We are doing a Jersey cake with our name on the back and a #1 as the number. I got little hockey sticks and the phoosh balls for part of the gift bags. He will be wearing a Maple Leaf Jersey as per Daddy's orders. I also am using a white paper table cloth and will add the red lines to make it look like a rink. We will likely play a version of pin the tail on the donkey, but use paper pucks that have to be in the goal for the older kids (I have a 3 1/2 yr old boy too). Hope that helps! Next year we are having Cooperbowl Sunday (my son's name is Cooper). Good luck!

I gave little sea-theme (pirates & mermaids) bath spogey-toys as favours.... the kids (& older siblings) loved them!

We did a craft.... I had some simple animal stamps (& non-toxic ink pads) & they each (with Mom or Dad's help) stamped the cover of their own thank-you card to take home.

We also put loads of balloons around the room... the kids loved them too =)
