Moms, I need your help. Cora won't stop taking off her diaper in her crib, whether it's at nap or bedtime. She has done this 3 times this week, and I'm tired of stripping and remaking her bed on a daily basis. I was thinking that she was ready for potty training today, up until the point when she peed on the floor, cried, and said that the pee scared her. We have tried everything: putting her in onesies or pants, scolding her, pretending to cry, and threatened to throw away her pillow pet, which I call her "pee-pet." I'm all out of ideas. Help please.

I think she is ready to potty train! But, she needs it to be a positive experience. Race her to the potty give her a head start. Get her used to sitting one the potty and be patient and encouraging. When she goes on the potty praise her and make a big deal out of it! Yelling at her or threatening to take something away from her only makes her more fearful. Most of the problem I had with my little boy was my own inconsistency. I found that I was the one being lazy and not taking him every 10 minutes or so. I also allowed him to run around naked from the waste down so he could feel everything that happened. Just be consistent and very patient! My son has been potty trained for almost 2 months now and still wants high fives and praise and that's ok. Just try different things and find out what works for her. We have to remember that this is all new to them and they are learning how there bodies work and that takes time. Eventually it will become second nature. Good luck with the potty training!

I know exactly what you r going through!!! I have 2 1/2 yr. old twin boys, and they both went through that stage at about the 2 yr. mark. we did everything we could to keep them on, especially during nap and bed time. well aventually the older twin, adam, stoped doing it. On the other hand, Ayden continued to take his diapper off. We had lots of messy, messes, if you know what I mean. lol. But in the end, or I should say, so now, when they take naps, or go to bed, we have to put draw string pants or shorts on them, tie, double knott them, and stick them back into the pants. that way if they did try to take them off, they would really have to work at it. So far, we havn't had anymore probblems, but the min. we don't put draw strings on, they take everything off again. the only problem we have is, we can't find comfy draw string pants. They have 1 pair each, and 1 pair of shorts. every morning we have a routine that consists of getn the babies up, changed, and beding and jammys get tossed into the washer. I hope this helps you.

I pit my little girl in a pull up it took her about 3 months to figure out that it is the sides and not in the front.

I have to agree with the other moms here! Duct tape!! I've had to do it to both my nephew at this age, and my daughter (age 2 also).
Get a good sized piece that will wrap all the way around the diaper. I've tried just taping the tabs in the front, but all the way around, with the ends meeting in the back works the best. :)
Good luck. The next step is Cora will be trying to take off her clothes in public. That's where we're at with Addison now, LOL!
