hi, ive had an emergency c section 9 months ago. and i still hurt from it !! theres times that i can wear jeans or sit for long periods of time. i even thought about exercising but i can do sit ups or anything. i was wondering if theres anyone who knows something about this and/or cured themselves with exercises or something. i think anything is worth a try. my doctor gave me muscle relaxors but i dont want to depend on them so i havent taken any.

I had an emergency c section nearly 5 yrs ago and i do remember that it was sore in that area for a while after but you should get it checked out to rule out infection, i still have numbing and itching sensation time to time!

Well, Nicole, I had one emergency C-section, & then a scheduled one with my second pregnancy only 15 months later. Five months after that, I had a hysterectomy for uteran cancer! It took me about a year & a half before I was without pain. Sometimes I get small pockets of infection, like ingrown hairs, that cause me discomfort, but nothing from the c-section since my youngest was about 18 months old---she is now 30:) However, if the pain persists too much longer, tell your doctor you want to go see an OB-GYN to see what's going on. You may have had some muscles knotted in some way during the surgery. It doesn't sound like pinched nerves, though. Just one thing: On a scale of one to ten--one being no pain, & ten being hard labour that you went through before the C-section--how severe would you classify your pain?
Also, you might want to try the muscle relaxors for a couple of days, just to see if they help. If they do, great! If not, go to see a specialist about it!
God Bless...Dodie/Nana

I have had 2 c-sections and didnt have problems til the 2nd one. I didnt have any pain or anything. I just swelled up from my waist to the incision area. My belly looked like honeycombs from a be-hive. We talked to the dr and said it was cellulitous. It was basically cause my abdomen stretched as much as it did(My daughter was 12lbs 6 oz) that is was my bodys way of shrinking back.

Melissa I have had 2 c-sections and the 2nd wasnt any worse then the 1st. I was just a little bit sorer because it had been 11 yrs since the 1st one.

I also think you should get a second opinion. I had a scheduled c-section. The only things I notice now (9 months later) is numb spots and very slight twinges now and then along the scar especially where there is a lot of scar tissue. It seems strange that you would still be in pain.

I think you should see your doctor again or get a second opinion. I had an emergency c-section almost 10 months ago now. I was 10 cm in full labor but had complications, I had the c-section, then I bled out. I also swelled, I was bigger after giving birth then before. I had a long recovery. I've had pain on my right side for some time after but my doc said it was because she always sutures tighter on the right. I some times get very minor discomfort and little spasm after intense ab work but it doesn't last long. I definitely don't need to take any relaxants. So I think if the pain is that bad you should definiteky see someone. A friend who also had a c-section says she feels numb in certain spots but I have never had that problem. As for exercises, I find the plank works best, I am getting a good workout without all the strain. Make sure you have a trainer show you the proper way if you are unsure of how to do it. It shouldn't hurt your back, and don't be discouraged if at first you can only do a few seconds at a time, just do a little at a time everyday. It is amazing how quickly you see and feel results.

I hope this helps a little.

Take care and congrats on your little one.
