My daughter was born on Feb 2 (so she's 11 months old today) and still no teeth yet! It seems like she's been teething forever now. I was wondering if anyone else is in the same boat as us :)

Well she is finally getting her first tooth it's on the bottom left and the bottom right is soon to follow! As of 1/23/09 so she's in a rush to get that tooth before she turns One year old in a week!

My son was born February 14,2008 and he has 6 teeth. Four top and two bottom. He got his first 2 teeth within a week of each other, first one poking through at the end of july. he got his last two in october and none since then.

my daughter was born Feb 23 and has 2 teeth on the bottom and 4 on the top. The bottom 2 came @ the same time. Thank goodness none of them bothered her when they were coming. She constanly has her fingers in her mouth so Im sure there are more coming.

My son is working on tooth #8. But I wish he was a little older, so he could tell me when his teeth are hurting. I took him in to the doctor's office, thinking he had an ear infection, but he was really just hurting from cutting 3 teeth at the same time. If he had been able to tell me what hurt, I wouldn't have exposed him to all the other sick kids... I'm afraid sometimes I'm giving him pain medicine when I don't need to, also, because I think his teeth are hurting, but he could just be in a bad mood.

Thanks for all the replies everyone! My Mom went to the dentist for a routine cleaning and they told her it's perfectly normal to not have any teeth before 13 months even! I see her bottom two kinda pushing her gums (they have looked like that for 4 months) so I know eventually it will happen. :)

Alexander was born feb 21st and is almost 11 month old now. He has 7 teeth and two more pushing their way through. He eats everything and loves food in general!

Hello Megan! My daughter was born Feb 3rd and she just got her first TWO teeth last week. So, I know exactly how you feel but don't be discouraged there are teeth down there somewhere. My mom-in-law told me a story of this lady that ended up taking her 1 yr. old to the doc. b/c she was so miserable and she didn't know what was wrong. When they checked the her it was obvious that she had multiple teeth on the way. Up until that point she had none.

Well Ladies my babies are all grow and teenagers now well two of them anyway. But I have to tell you my oldest daughter did not get her first tooth until she was 13 months and I was sure she was teething at 4 months. She is almost 14 years old almost 15 and still is losing baby teeth. So no woorries, some of us just take more time then others. She didn't start walking until 14 months and then got her second tooth. Hope that helps. Good luck!

My daughter was born Feb. 28 and at six months got her bottom teeth. She also now has her top teeth and is teething again. I do know kids who have not gotten their teeth til they were one. I have also heard it is better if they get them later.

Hi Megan, my son Archie was born on 29th Feb and only got his first tooth after he was 10 months old! I have been told that the older they are when their teeth come through that the teeth last longer... I'm not sure whether it's just an old wives tale or not but thought it was interesting!

Something i found that helped (that no one has mentioned but seemed to work for me) was a baby drinking bottle filled with water! She is learning how to drink from them now, so it gave her something to concentrate on (taking her mind off of her teething pain) and it also gave her something to chew on, which made her feel better! She actually cut her top teeth on her bottle of water! Maybe try that!

My son starting teething about 3-4 months old. He's now working on his 12th tooth!!! I can't believe it. I have such a helpless feeling sometimes. Especially when it seems like NOTHING is helping to relieve his pain.

YES!! My son has been teething since 3 months I swear! Now it is terrible, you can see the bumps along his gums and he has been in agony for weeks now and still nothing. He has had the drooling, mild fever, different bowel movements everything, but still no teeth! He has been almost impossible to console for the past few days and the worst of it is that we are on holidays in mexico right now! Anyways, I'm hoping that we will have a "breakthrough" very soon for both our sake!

My Daughter was born on the 8th of Feb and only recently had some teeth come through! I really didn't mind their late arrival! Two reasons why you shouldn't worry... One: You wont need to start with the tooth brush training yet (though mine loves brushing her teeth, lets hope that lasts) and Two: Apparently the later teeth appear, the healthier and stronger they are!

My Son is 10 months 2 weeks and only has his two bottom teeth. I keep looking for the top two, but noticed the other day that a third bottom tooth is coming in. No action on top at all! They say that it is hereditary on the mothers side. So, I looked back to my records and I didnt get my two top teeth until 15 months! Don't worry. They will come. I am breastfeeding so it is kind of a blessing!

My Liney was born on Feb 9th.  Her two bottom teeth are through and her two top teeth are working through now.    We use teething tablets to help her with the grumpiness.  They are a oh, whats the word... can't think of it, but it has chamommile and a few other things that are more natural than some of the other stuff.  They disolve once they hit the tongue, so no worries.  Liney actually likes taking them and doesn't give us a problem.  You can find them in either the baby section or in the vitamin section of (a bad store that i don't like because i worked there for 5 yrs) walmart.

Awww you have a Valentine's Baby :) Good to hear that it's taken this long for someone else to get a tooth. I know it's totally normal to not get teeth the same time as other babies but it just seems to be taking forever!

Hi everyone, my son was born the 26th of Feb and the same as most started teething at 4 months. He got his bottom two at 7mths and has started teething again recently and the top gums are bulging white but still nothing. I half expected to wake up one morning and there Jack is with a mouth full of teeth smiling back at me. No such luck at the moment I guess. Thank god for panadol and teething gel. One thing I can suggest is Hyland's teething tablets- they seem to work a treat. they disolve in their mouth and seem to last about 3 hours for Jack.

My daughter was born Feb 29 and only has one tooth. Her one tooth has taken forever to come in, and is barely "normal-sized." The others haven't come in yet, but it looks like her upper gum has two bulging teeth underneath. They haven't come through yet, but they've been there for a long time. Her gums seem painful...

My daughter seemed to have all the usual symptoms from about 3-4 months but no teeth came through until she was almost 9 months. Within 2 weeks, another 2 bottom teeth had popped through and she is now almost 11 months and the top 2 have just popped through. So, she basically got 5 teeth within two months. I think the worst part about the whole teething/waiting process is that you don't know whether they are actually "teething" until about 10 days after the symptoms stop and a tooth appears. In the meantime, I would just keep an eye on your baby's temperature and use something like Bonjela on her gums to help sooth them.

[deleted account]

Megan and Melissa - I'm with you. My daughter only has one tooth, even though it seems like more are coming all the time. They never seem to break through! The one she does have has taken FOREVER to pop all the way up, too . . . it has been almost a month and it finally seems like the size of a normal tooth. I have a friend whose daughter is 13 months and she has 12 teeth already . . . crazy how different they all are. My dr. was funny about teeth at her last appointment - he said "You have teeth, right? So does your husband? So, don't worry, they'll come!"

That's so weird, yeah i find it very discouraging when i hear about babies younger then her with 3 or 4 teeth and she has no teeth yet but apparently her doctor says that the longer they are without teeth the better there teeth will be because the milk is bad for there teeth so i guess we are lucky in away!

I know what you mean! It's like her bottom gums are all swollen one day and she's grumpy but then a couple days later the swelling has gone down and still no white!
I was sure she was teething at 4 months too! lol
